• Advertising Review:

  In August 2024, BBB contacted Ridgefield Aesthetics  regarding claims in its advertising.
  
  Its website and other online advertising includes many health benefit claims related to the ingredients and treatments offered at its facility.  According to the BBB Code of Advertising, claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data.  For medicinal and therapeutic claims or claims to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any illness or disease, scientific clinical evidence from human clinical trials is preferred to support these claims.  Substantiation should involve human testing that is blinded, performed by an independent third party, placebo controlled, conducted on a sufficient scope of subjects, and ideally has been peer reviewed. Claims concerning overall uniquely formulated products also require testing on the combination of ingredients in the product.  Specific ingredient claims also require substantiation. Below is a sample of some of the health benefit claims in Ridgefield Aesthetics' advertising. 
  "CBD Treatment, "Key benefits include: Pain Management: CBD is believed to interact with core components of the body’s endocannabinoid system, potentially reducing inflammation and offering relief from various types of pain. Anxiety and Stress Reduction: For many, CBD provides a natural alternative to combat anxiety, stress, and related disorders, fostering a sense of calm. Improved Sleep: Through relaxation and anxiety reduction, CBD treatments can aid those with insomnia or disrupted sleep patterns, promoting restful nights. Skin Health: Its anti-inflammatory properties have made CBD a popular choice in skincare, potentially reducing symptoms of conditions like acne or eczema. Neuroprotection: Preliminary studies suggest that CBD may offer protective benefits for those with neurological disorders."
  "Metabo Slim - Helps to burn fat, restores energy, and boosts metabolism. Contains B Complex and Amino Acids."
  "Immunity - Boosts your immune system. Protects against infection. Improves healing time. Reduces duration of illness. C Vitamins, B Complex, Zinc."
  "There are also long term consequences for hormonal deficiencies. Estrogen loss puts women at a higher risk for premature ovary failure, osteoporosis, heart disease, colon cancer, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, diabetes, and more.. These risks increase the longer a woman suffers from estrogen deficiency. However, women also need testosterone. Imbalanced testosterone levels in women may compromise mental clarity, libido, and muscle tone and mass.   "Benefits of the Plasma Shot: For Men: Boosted libido; Enhanced sexual sensation; Stronger, longer-lasting erections. For Women: Age-related feminine challenges like vaginal dryness, diminished libido, and atrophy of vaginal tissue can compromise intimate moments. The Plasma shot offers a panacea: Amplified libido and arousal; Enhanced natural lubrication; Tightening of the vaginal entrance; Amplified sexual sensation; Improved appearance of the vulva; More consistent and powerful climaxes; Alleviation of urinary incontinence."
  The business did not respond to BBB's suggestion that all websites, social media, and marketing materials should be checked to ensure claims that are not able to be substantiated with proper scientific documentation are either removed or modified.
  
  Its website includes the following customer testimonials:
  "I recently began bioidentical hormone replacement therapy at Ridgefield Aesthetics. I am two years post menopause and have been struggling with weight gain, mental fog, decreased libido, and other issues. I know that women my age do not have to accept these effects of aging and that BHRT is a safe and effective way to address them. I can only say that I wish I had started sooner. The pellet procedure is quick and painless, and I'm already starting to see positive benefits."
  "I came into Ridgefield Aesthetics feeling horrible. I had the worst cold for over a week and was taking OTC meds and nothing seemed to help. I got the immunity IV infusion. I felt 10x better right after I was done and my lingering cold was gone in two days!"  
  According to the BBB Code of Advertising, in general, advertising which uses testimonials or endorsements is likely to mislead or confuse if it contains representations or statements which would be misleading if made directly by the advertiser.  Advertisers must be able to support claims found in the testimonials used in their marketing. The business did not  respond to BBB's suggestion that if substantiation is not available, it would be advisable to remove such testimonials.
  
  Its website states "Featured On" and includes logos for allure, CBS, The Doctors, Dr. 90210, NBC, FOX, E!, Cosmopolitan, People, Daily Mail, New Beauty, and Huffpost. According to the BBB Code of Advertising, misrepresentation may result not only from direct statements, but by omitting or obscuring a material fact.  The business did not respond when BBB asked if the company was the subject of an article or news story on these programs and publications or if it was an advertiser.  BBB suggested that if the business was an advertiser that it change the statement to “as advertised on..,” but did not receive a reply.
