    Contractor came to our home after I contacted him. We discussed our desire to have a stone patio constructed behind a home we recently purchased. Contractor gave us a verbal price on July 16, 2022, told us the product was available and would arrive in 2 weeks. We asked him to please make sure the job would be completed before Labor Day Weekend of 2022 and he assured us that would not be a problem. On July 18, 2022 I wired the contractor via ***** a $3500.00 deposit. Since that time contractor has issued nothing but excuses as to why material never showed up, why he now could not do the job before labor Day, and basically contradictory stories blaming his supplier for this job not going forward, Finally after multiple requests for our deposit back that went unanswered. I said to him I would seek some legal help. Instead I contacted the BBB. Finally the contractor sent me a text message saying he mailed me a check for my initial deposit of $3500.00 and also sent me an email stating the job was cancelled and a check for the above amount has been mailed. We have never received said check and am convinced he had no intention of ever returning my money.
    In a seperate Email to ******* ********* at BBB i have forwarded a copy of his text and a copy of his email stating he sent me the $$$ back.
    Also let me be clear that no work was ever done and no material was ever delivered. He just took our money and gave us lame excuses. Clearly something is not good with this gentleman.
    Please help me get my $3500.00 back from this guy.

    Hello *******, a quick note to let you know that the contractor in question returned my deposit.

    It took the BBB, the State, and the local PD to get this guy to return my $$$.
