HPC FoodserviceAbout
Important information
- Additional Info:BBB
has been informed by The Hartford Provision Company, doing business as HPC
Foodservice, that it has been victimized by a lottery scam utilizing its name
and bank.
Phony checks bearing the HPC Foodservice name have been mailed
country wide by the scam operators under the guise that individuals have won
the United Kingdom Lottery. Individuals are being sent checks and letters
entitled “Prize Award Notification”. They are then instructed to deposit
the enclosed HPC Foodservice check and to wire back a “tax” fee through Western
Union.
Recipients
of the fraudulent checks should file complaints, including the phony checks,
letters and envelopes, with the Federal Trade Commission at www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov.”
