    * ***** cigars are .99 cents, and the packaging is clearly printed as such. This store has placed stickers over the package and made it 1.25. I have complained and the complaints have caused them to ban me from the store and call the police. It’s not ok for stores to rob communities we have consumer rights. I have talked to the owner many times and he has been negligent in fixing the price.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

the store owner is lying. I have on many occasions told the store they CANNOT sell ******s individually for $1.25 (which they put an orange sticker on). They offered to sell me boxes at a discount but the individual units were still being sold for $1.25. I told them that’s not ok for them to do that it’s illegal but they didn’t care. Yes many arguments were had over this matter because it’s not ok for stores to raise prices on items that are clearly marked.

I was told many times that it was because their distributor raised the prices. This is a matter of principal and they refused to be held accountable. I also opened a case with the state consumer protection company.

anything they say about not selling for $1.25 individually is a lie. And it’s a lie that I’m a troublemaker, I have been a patron of this store for over 6 years with NO incident until I chose to take on the “establishment” which they have fought me on tooth and nail.

    Sincerely,

Like we said we sell ****** CIGARS as it is priced you can always crosscheck on our sale,we say that the distributor has raised the prices means they changed the printed label as $1.49 I have attached old and new ****** CIGARS in this response. We sell them accordingly as they are priced if it is $0.99 we sell for $0.99 if it is $1.49 we sell as it is. We have to ban this customer because of his rude behavior for n number of times we have all recorded cctv footage of his voilence act on my employees which cannot be attached as it is restricted by its size, even we attached few vedios in previous response we are ready to present to support his trespass. His act of violence has gotten fears in my employees as they state they feel unsafe to work here,I have to ensure my employees with safe environment for working and cause no more trouble we never had any issue with any customer our track is so clean in customer satisfaction. We made a decision after n number of incident and we don't want to withdraw our decision. I want to rest these rsponses and I'm requesting BBB to investigate fairly on all the evidence and Close this complaint any further requirements to BBB shall be provided and we don't want to make these responses as debate as we want to stand on our decision.

    Thank you,

The photo the business sent, the one labeled .99 cents they would put an orange sticker on marked 1.25 or 1.49 and expect customers to pay that price. I told them unless it is manufactured that way you cannot raise the price. They refused and continued to charge me and other customers their marked up price which according to consumer protection laws in ** is illegal. You cannot place a sticker on an item that’s already clearly marked as a price. They say I have been a nuisance but that’s only their way of saying they don’t like when minorities speak up for themselves. They cannot be told they are wrong. They cannot consider being wrong. The owner Badr even acknowledged to me that the employee I have had issues over the cigars with is an immature kid and he doesn’t know any better. The owner previously called me to apologize for these actions but now he is changing his tune and supporting his employee but before he agreed with me and called me.
