  George, Gus, and their team did a wonderful job painting our house even as we had to roll with the changes due to additional damages that no one would have been able to guess at. They were professional and their team was working hard every day.

  ********** George Painting & Home Improvement is exceptional. We had them come and do drywall repair for a new HVAC system we had installed. They replaced some of our bathroom tiles and painted our walls where radiators previously were. They were easy to communicate with, arrived on time, and ensured they left our home clean at the end of each day. They are professional and are incredibly skilled at everything they do. We would highly recommend them to anyone and will be hiring them again in the spring to paint the exterior of our home!

  I posted my job on the BBB website to remove the popcorn textured ceiling and repair seam cracks that had developed over 40 years. Gus, the face of George Painting..., was the first of three to respond and quickly showed up after my invitation. I was a little skeptical since his travel distance from the business address was what I thought, considerable. (This is going to add a premium to the base cost!)
  I felt comfortable with his description of the work plan after a good half hour on site. The explanation of the process was quite similar to the other contractors. I did go with the low bid despite normally throwing out the low and high. They were all fairly close. Had I only received one quote any one I would not have felt was unreasonable.
  Gus said this would be a messy job and in an occupied house. Plastic was spread everywhere, drop cloths layed and what furniture remained was covered. Initially, he expected to take up to 3 days. I heard him say 4 days once. Whatever. The 3 man crew, Gus and 2 others, would start around 0900. I imagine that was due to the distance and having to deal with some normally heavy city traffic. They stayed until the mid-Oct sun was getting ready to set. The next day, same arrival time but they stayed to well after the sun had gone down. This job over the 2 days included removing the popcorn, screw and patch some cracks, prime and then paint the ceiling. Then clean up.
  Personally, I don't award 5 stars, 10 or The Best Ever ( Ever has not come to pass for me). There were a few small spots of paint and paint chips to tend to after they departed. All easily remedied. It was an opportunity to catch up on our house cleaning. (I would only give ourselves 3 stars for that task.)
  If the topic came up at a gathering I would offer GP&HI as a good prospect and will certainly explore some of their other services should those needs arise.
