Company was hired to replace central air conditioning unit. Agreement was made on 5/16/23. Date of scheduled service was to be 5/30/23 and take 1.5 days to complete. Work started 6/1. Outside unit was replaced 1st. Returned 6/8/23 to remove handler and on 6/16/23 to complete job. We were on standby everyday as the company would often say they would be there that day or following and not show up. On 6/20, there were water marks on the ceiling, below the location of the crawl space unit. Company returned the next day. Water was vacuumed out and reported that the pipe was cleared. On 6/24/23, unit would not turn on and there was additional water staining. Staff technicians returned 6/26/23. A piece of pipe was reportedly replaced and the remainder was unclogged and solution poured to prevent mold. On 6/28, the unit stopped working again. They stated that they would have to make a drainage through the exterior of the house. We are given different reasons/information/excuses every time. On 6/29, the technician came to run the new pipe. He admitted that the original pipe should have been changed to PVC to accommodate the larger unit, however owner told them not to. He notified the owner that we questioned the length of the job and were frustrated about the quality. Owner told the technicians to leave due to us being "hostile," despite technician verifying we were only asking questions. Owner will not respond to calls or texts.
I paid $8880 for the job. $7200 paid 5/19, $1680 paid 6/20. He was asking for another $348, for the pipes.
The unit is not functioning. I need the job completed correctly and it verified that there is no mold. Would like to have them compensate to have the large stain removed from the ceiling appropriately, repainted, and ensure that there is no electrical damage (as the water mark is above a light fixture and smoke detector.)
I have 2 children with severe asthma that have been effected by the humidity and heat and lost 2 days of work.
