I went to deals on wheels llc (my first time) looking to buy some furniture for the house. I found a 6-cube for $39.99. I paid with a debit card. When I went home I noticed it had 6 out of the 9 “shelf walls”. The screws that came with it only had the wood connectors (which half of them came broken) but no metal screws. So much was missing that they didn’t even bother putting the instruction manual. I went to return it the next day but they told me that they don’t do returns. I tried to explain to them that the furniture did not have a small scratch, there are parts actually missing and that would be a waste of $40. They continued to insist that they do not and will not accept returns. And so I left back home with the furniture to see if I can do something to get my money back

    Dear *******,

This establishment is a liquidation store. We receive many items that have some parts missing which is the reason for their prices being 80-95% off retail price. They’re usually refurbished, or refunded items. We sell items as they come with no way of knowing the exact details of every item. We explain that to our customers which is why we also have an unboxing station accessible and free to all customers to unbox anything they desire and check before making that purchase. Once the purchase is made it’s completely within the customers discretion which is why we do not accept refunds. The fact we do not accept refunds is posted throughout the store and not hidden. It’s stated over and over again via intercom that we are not responsible for anything a customer takes home especially since we offer free service to allow them to further examine an item. Though we don’t accept refunds or exchanges we offered that customer an exchange out courtesy which they refused. We are a new business and learning as we go who to get our liquidation items from in order to limit the amount of defects possibly received. Since it’s humanly impossible to examine an entire container worth of items hence it’s the reason why we offer our unboxing service. Our customer satisfaction is our goal but so is making and maintaining a profitable business.

    Respectfully,
    Raid H******

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because half of the business’ response was false. There are clear signs that stated that we, as the consumers, could not open the boxes. Also when I went there with the defective shelf I asked if I could get either a refund or exchange it for something else. The man I talked to refused stating that there was nothing he could let me do. If they accept, I will be open to going and exchanging the defective shelf for something else. I noticed the shelf shows that it came from target. I went to go check the shelf in target and noticed that this liquidation store was selling the defective shelf for around 10-12 dollars more. For a shelf that has broken and missing parts, I paid enough money that I am refusing to simply leave this unresolved. If I can’t get a refund I will like to exchange it for something else. I still have the shelf as I can’t do nothing with it and I also have receipt.

    Sincerely,

    ******* *******

Our store policy is no return, no exchanges & all sales are final. We have a unboxing station that we use to make sure any items are broken, damaged, or missing parts.
