      Business committed: To check asbestos with test, and then give a quote for abatement. The inspector told me that I would not have to pay anything, and he would get back to me with a quote. I specifically asked if I was going to be charged for the service, and he said that I would not.

      Nature of the dispute: SERVPRO is charging $1172 for asbestos testing. This is not what I agreed to and is far above the market value for a simple asbestos test, the market value being under $200.

      Whether business has attempted to resolve the problem: I called the business and explained both that their charge was unreasonable and that I had not agreed to such a price. They refused to discuss the issue and claimed they were charging market rate. I explained that my neighbor had gotten the same test done in ***** ***** for under $110.

      They have pulled a classic bait and switch and I will not pay this outrageous and unexpected charge, especially since their inspector told me it wouldn’t cost me anything.
