This site is a scam, impersonates the *** and charges for services you can get for free on the *** website. I applied for an EIN for my husbands estate on 08/10/24 and was given this website as a resource to do so. Not realizing I wasnt communicating with a government agency I filled out the form and paid the fee of $249 when prompted. I was ripped off and now Im concerned about the information I provided. I want a refund and I want this scam of a company to delete my data from their records. What is my recourse here? How can I get my money back and protect myself from identity theft?Initial Complaint

I was applying for a Fed EIN on 9/21 and was redirected to the GovEasy site, misleading me to believe that it was an agent of and/or somehow associated with the **** I paid $249 for a service that is available for free from the federal government. We received an email later that day that it would be 2 weeks until the final EIN would be available. This is not legitimate. And, this company collected sensitive information, including social security and credit card numbers. I have requested that the credit card company cancel payment to this organization on 9/23. To say GovEasy is misleading is a gross understatement. This company should not be in business. It is misleading and not adding any value to the process, rather just taking money. It also should not have access to sensitive information, as there is nothing on their website about how they protect sensitive information. I left them a voicemail on 9/23 informing that I was cancelling payment and that they needed to call me back to determine how they would destroy and/or not use the sensitive information that they have.Initial Complaint

Was looking to file for an FEIN number with ***. Had never applied for an FEIN and did not know it was free until I contacted the *** to check on my application I filed on 5/22. *** did not have anything on file and I did not have an application in process. This company makes their application process look like the *** and took $319 from me on 5/22/2024. They also now have my address, phone number and SS#. There is no way to get a hold of the company and I am concerned they will now sell my PPI to someone else. Not to mention they did not file my FEIN number; I filed my own today.Initial Complaint

I think this is a scam website. I filed for an LLC through this website and it isn't anywhere to be found and they charged me $250
