On August 28th, 2022, I booked a ten person Private Soiree Cruse  with Jamboree Cruise Lines that was meant to be held on September 10th, 2022, from 3:45 pm -5:45 pm. On September 9th, 2022, at 11:09 am, I was notified that our cruise was to be canceled due to the captain having Covid and that I would be issued a FULL refund immediately. I responded to the email at 1:32 pm on the same day and did not receive a response. On September 12th, 2022, I contacted Jamboree Cruise Lines at the number listed on their website to inquire about the refund and left a phone message. On September 13th, 2022, I sent them an email asking about the refund and was told that the refund would not be immediate. That it would take 7-10 days and that it was not a full refund. The refund would be for ticket value, and the taxes and fees were not refundable. I replied that: The merchant canceled the service due to issues on their end. They stated in the last email that Friday that I would be issued a full refund. Their website says cancellations made within 24 hours will receive a full refund. I have yet to hear back from Jamboree Cruise and need this resolved. This type of business is very unethical and fraudulent.

After apologizing to *************** about the unfortunate cancellation of her trip, she was offered a free trip for a date of her choosing. Our captain had Covid, which is a variable we can’t control considering mask mandates are not strict anymore. We are a very small company in its first year of operation and so we ask for grace while we work out the kinks that are sure to make us a better company in the future.

     Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because, as stated in the initial email correspondence from the company and on their website, I was to be issued a full refund immediately. The main issue lies with the representative changing their mind and assessing a fee for a service that they canceled. It is an unfair business practice to the consumer. I do not want this type of thing to happen to anyone else. I understand the business is new, and this is a kink that they need to work out. You cannot charge the consumer a fee for a service the merchant canceled. And you cannot tell the consumer you will issue a full refund and then change your mind, especially when you have it in writing.

    Regards,

The options presented to us when its time to give a refund is a full refund and a partial refund. All customers get a full refund in circumstances such as this. The fees that are left out are not up to us but up to the company that we partner with called *********** I suggest calling them and asking why the fees werent returned to you because it is out of our jurisdiction once we request for you to receive a full refund.
