    I called and emailed several time the Gold's Gym - Rosslyn in June 2023, requesting to pause my membership for two months since I was out of the town in that period. I have the call record. So, I did not pay the two months membership fee. I went to this Gym to resolve the issue face to face on August 20th. I went back August 30th since there was nobody to address the issue. I met the manager, and I was told that I will be referred to a collection agency. The manger stated that I called to a spam number, but I showed him the call number which is literally the gyms payment phone number, and the call record. The manager threatened that he will waive the late fee and won't send it to the collection agency if I keep my membership! I do not want any more to keep my membership and now I am forced to go there. I just paid one month fee ($50) to avoid the collection agency. I am requesting my membership to be cancelled immediately and the so called past due to be waived, as well as refunding one month forced membership ($50).Thanks.

    My wife and I were both members of Gold's Gym Van Ness in Washington, D.C. My wife and I were located in Washington, D.C. due to her military service. In May 2023, my wife provided Gold's Gym Van Ness with a copy of military permanent change of station (PCS) orders, ordering her to depart Washington D.C. and report to a duty position in France, effective 6 June 2023. She requested both her and my Gold's Gym contract be terminated effective immediately due to this move. Gold's Gym Van Ness agreed to process the cancellation but continued to charge both her and I for a period through the middle of July. This is in violation of the Servicemember's Civil Relief Act, which was amended in 2023 (attached) to include Gym Memberships. After following up with Gold's Gym Van Ness, we were informed that "corporate policy" trumped the SCRA (a federal law) and an associate would forward our claim to a manager. We have attempted to follow up with the manager, but the individual is either never around and e-mails sent to the address published on their webpage are returned as undeliverable. We have since received notice from the agency Gold's Gym contracts for bill collection (*** *******) of outstanding debts, which are in violation of the SCRA and which our credit card has been declining. *** ******* states they are bound by Gold's Gym and cannot modify or remove charges without their consent. We are requesting that both my wife and my charges by Gold's Gym Van Ness be relieved in accordance with the SCRA after she provided the gym with written notice and a copy of her orders.
