  Avoid Justin C******** at All Costs!
  I hired Justin C******** (License #136486) from trec roofing & remodeling to build a deck for my home, and it has been the worst experience I’ve ever had with a contractor. His license has since been suspended by the MHIC due to several complaints.
  1. Endless Delays and Excuses: Since signing the contract in June 2024, project has seen little progress despite multiple payments. After paying in June & again in July for materials that were never delivered, only the old deck was demolished (& debris left behind). Justin repeatedly came up with excuses, but one of the most unacceptable was when he claimed that materials had been delivered to a different client with the same name as mine (“Nadim”) & that his team had already started a deck project there—a complete lie & a weak excuse for more delays.
  2. Poor Communication: Justin rarely responds to calls or messages, & when he does, it’s just to make more empty promises or give new excuses. His lack of professionalism is alarming.
  3. Safety Hazards: The project site was left in an unsafe condition for weeks, with holes dug & concrete poured. This posed a serious risk, especially to my children, who could have been hurt while playing in our backyard.
  4. License Suspended & Refund Delays: After canceling the contract and asking for a refund (even offering to deduct for the little work he did), Justin refused to cooperate and delayed the process. When I filed a complaint with the MHIC, he outright told me he would “use the system to delay the refund” and that it could take years. This kind of behavior is beyond unacceptable. He took $17,750 with two installments and now it had been 5 months and I am going thru MHIC to get my refund.
  I strongly advise anyone considering Justin C******** for work to look elsewhere. His lack of integrity, professionalism, and respect for clients is staggering. I would never recommend him to anyone

  We purchased a deck through Trec Roofing & Remodeling in 2021. It seemed like a very professional and reliable company and that's why my husband and I invested in the company. However, we attempted to get a repair fulfilled and received the run-around from Trec Company including Justin the CEO.
  On October 17, 2022, my husband was directed to send a text message about the damage after speaking with an employee. He sent a picture and noted what the damage was as well. We reached out to the company for an estimate on the repair of 3 composite kinds of wood that were damaged. The company responsible for the damage asked that we reach out to the deck company for the estimate so they could replace the damage through their insurance company. It has now been almost 9 months and we have heard nothing from TREC Roofing & Remodeling.
  We realized we had not received any response by November and my husband reached out to them again in November, December, and January. After my husband's last contact, he advised me to begin reaching out. Which once again, is unprofessional. I called and left a message on January 3, 2023, and an employee called me back on January 4, 2023, and left a message. I called her back on January 5, 2023, and she was not at work. I received no updated call and called back again on January 9, 2023. I spoke with another employee who advised me someone would return my call by the next day. I never received a call the following day. I reached out again on January 11th and was told there was no update and they were waiting on the owner Justin C******** to give them the quote info and they would give it to me.
  This lack of response has been unacceptable and unprofessional. We invested in this company because Justin explained the stellar service we would receive if we had any problems after the deck was built. We aren't even asking for the company to replace it, we are trying to get a quote to have it replaced. It's now July and we have heard nothing.

  Signed contract for a patio on October 4th 2022. Its July 11, 2023 and still no patio. Justin the so called CEO has not kept his word and now wont take my calls or return my text. This is the most unprofessional company ever. Here is a text from Justin on May 26, 2023: Hi Mr Moton, great news. I now have a tentative install date of 6/9.... I'm still going to try and get sooner but that's an accurate date and you are on the board. Still no patio 9 months later. The promise of weekly updates is a joke. If I didnt reach out to them I wouldnt know nothing and now Im ghosted. No response at all to my request for an update. Unacceptable and bad business!

  I have written a review when Trec Roofing finally completed my deck and fence. I gave them a great review However, I should have waited until the repairs were completed. My deck has been completed since October 2021, but we continue to asked Justin to repair the railings and a few boards that are lifting. I’ve been emailing for over a year and still no response. I have no other choice but to contact the State Board. When it comes to repairs and warranty issues. Justin will not follow up! Be caution !!!

  I enjoyed working with Trec Roofing to have my screened in porch built. They did an excellent job on the construction. Justin was great and helped me to get financed. The process was easy and I loved the finished product. My construction manager even built me a doggy door. My screened in porch was beautifully done, and the team was great. Thanks Justine, Rob, Tiffany and Kelly!

  Was nervous having to do a roof replacement but after multiple estimates Trec Roofing seemed to give me the best customer service making the project much easier then I anticipated. Job was done on time and as planned and was pleased with the workmanship. I Would use Trec Roofing again in the future.

  TREC Roofing & Remodeling did an excellent job installing our deck. We were extremely impressed and appreciative with the level of detail and personal interest that Justin C. had when helping us decide what we wanted to do. He described the entire process to the "T", and there were no surprises. The installation team was great and installed our deck flawlessly. It looks great and we're very happy with our selections. We started this process during the pandemic and it did take some time to get HOA and permit approvals, but Kelly kept us well informed with weekly calls to update us on the status. I would highly recommend TREC Roofing & Remodeling to family and friends.

  I had a deck ceiling installed by TREC in 2020 and for the past two years it has leaked. TREC came back out caulked and the deck ceiling continued to leak. I finally contacted ZipUp, the ceiling manufacturer. The product technical installer asked for some photos and stated our deck ceiling was installed improperly and has offered to speak with TREC to offer guidance on how to reinstall the ceiling properly so it won’t leak. Still waiting TREC to coordinate with ZipUp. I would not recommend TREC and I am very unhappy with the work the did.

  TREC Roofing & Remodeling did an outstanding job in adding a porch in my backyard. My family and I were so satisfied with their services that after a few months later, we contacted them again to add a stone patio to accompany the porch. Justin C., our Sales Rep. was very helpful, knowledgeable, and offered a lot of great input on the patio project. I also appreciated Kelly W., the Production Manager and the rest of the crew for their patience while we waited for an approval from our HOA before the work can be done.
  I highly recommend TREC Roofing & Remodeling to my family and friend or to anyone in the DMV.
