    Derek F***** renovated my condo in Washington DC, new kitchen cabinets, floor & appliances (stove with overhead vent, refrigerator, dishwasher), light fixture, sink, faucet & countertop new bathroom tub, floor, vanity with sink & faucets, tile around bath tub, new commode & light fixtures, new flooring in rest of the apt. No one lived in the apt for 2 years due to the pandemic. Just rented the apt this past September. When I was wiping down the bathtub I discover that the brand new tub had been chipped & was covered up. My tenant was working in NYC this summer & came back to the apt for the weekend and found the cabinets in the kitchen were on the floor! I tried to go through Derek’s liability insurance but they did not cover his workmanship. I’ve been trying to get in touch with Derek but he does not return my calls. He called me once when he knew I was at work. I keep texting him but he does not text me back. His voicemail is always full. I even had his friend who had referred him to me try to reach him but he is avoiding his calls too. I need to have this matter taken care of asap since my tenant is returning on the 20th of August.

    I did the work for **************** 2 years ago. **************** forced me to do some things outside of my contract before she would pay me the final payment of our original agreement. Her lawyer got involved, and we came to an agreement. That was how the job ended. I got a call and a letter from my insurance company that **************** tried to make a claim for work completed 2 years ago. She called my insurance before she called me. Two years is why they didn't accept/pay a claim. That is also why I don't accept liability. I have never had cabinets just fall off the wall, and I have installed hundreds. After 2 years, if the cabinets are defective, that is a manufacturer issue. Also, **************** did not provide photos of her claim, and after 2 years, I do not think I am liable for anything going on in her condo. I do not know when or if the cabinets fell. I Have also experienced **************** not being a completely honest person. It's not that I don't do good business with my customers, as I aim for customer satisfaction, I just don't want to do anymore business with **************** due to past experience.
