    I applied to novo apartment and the website is false advertisement it states utilities included in rent etc I received the lease and they are saying Im responsible for everything I paid and application fee Based on property website and was very excited to move in my unit , to be mislead is very disappointing . I would have never applied and wasted my money. The website says Utilities included in rent and parking included (reserved parking) so I expect novo to live up to the dreams they are selling renters. Please help me secure this apartment please

    I moved out of their property 5/1/23. On 6/14/23 I went to corp office seeking the return of my rental deposit and spoke with ***************** regional manager who presented me with a spreadsheet that charged for utilities Feb, Mar and April, resulting in $489.72 for my return. I stated that a charge from Feb was unprecedented and wasn't correct. **************** stated "It how we bill" and that my refund was mailed on 6/09/23. I also notified her that ***, their credit collection agency called and said I owed NOVO Properties $56.25 and it would be published on my credit. To date I've not received any money or a response, despite visiting the office on 6/27 and sending emails to **************** on 6/22 and 7/14. I want my final bill reviewed and the additional money owed by Maryland Law which states that I must receive deposit in 45 days or I can receive 3x the deposit withheld and for *************** ******* to stop calling me and blocked from sending this debt to my credit report bureau. Novo Properties has my new address as noted on both the spreadsheet and *** documentation.

    I live in one of their properties and moved there April 29, 2023. I originally saw the apartment in January and was told by the then manager that the dishwasher didn’t work. That didn’t bother me because I had been living in an apartment for almost five years with a dishwasher and never used it. But two days ago, my son opened up dishwasher and discovered a colony of filthy roaches living inside. I shouldn’t have moved into this apartment because this is some beyond trifling stuff. This apartment is in the deep of the **** **** area of Chicago which is considered one of the best neighborhoods in the city. I can’t tell.

    I would like moving expenses from Novo Properties because they are beyond trifling. If I cannot get that, I would like a new dishwasher and an extermination by a professional, not a janitor. .

    August 15 was the move out date for tenants at the ****** property. Upon turning in keys tenant was assured within 45-60 day the security deposit would be issued. After steady emails, check-ups, and delayed notices, instead of a deposit return tenant received a call from collections and the credit bureau had been notified of a balance which negatively effected the tenants credit. Immediately tenant met with the building office managers and it was cleared up that an error was made by the accounting department. Their records which are attached indicate multiple errors in charges: prices, titles etc. Tenants were charged both a full months rent for August and the prorated amount ultimately dissolving the security deposit which resulted in an owed balance and without notice tenant were reported to collections. Once the error was observed tenant was assured it would be handled with haste, however it has been an 2 months and no actions have resulted. Tenants call and receive no answer and emails are met with condolences but delayed action still. For 5 years tenant maintained a spotless record always paid on time, resolving all matters according to code, now after 4 months Novo Properties has wrongly charged, reported, and withheld deposit from tenant.

    On June 15, my former roommate and I got approved for an apartment in the ******* **** Novo Properties complex. On June 16, I dropped off the $500 deposit and emailed our property manager (***************************) that I had done so. On June 27, my roommate unexpectedly told me she could not sign the lease. We never had the lease emailed to us before the move in date, so I assumed this wouldn't be a huge issue to be refunded. I emailed *************************** and explained the situation, but received no reply. I kept trying to call and follow up. When she finally answered her cell phone, she said she no longer works for Novo Properties and I should email *****************************. I then proceeded to email ******* the situation. She replied in a timely manner and said she would take a look when she got back to the College Park location. Since she replied in timely manner the first time, I gave her the benefit of the doubt. Its now been two weeks and I have not heard anything. I would really appreciate if the BBB assisted me to get a refund.I also have not had good customer service working with this business. It should not have been a struggle to contact the property managers. Even though it worked out that the lease was never sent, it should have been sent. I didnt get in contact with ******* until AFTER the supposed move in date. No one from Novo Properties contacted us after she had quit. What were we supposed to on move in day?Ive never felt more ignored and unimportant to a business. I wouldnt suggest anyone to try to move in here after the horrible customer service I experienced. They need to do better.
