I attempted to take my online math exam on May 25th. Once the exam had started it was revoked because a calculator was saw in view. Which was an accident and misunderstanding on my behalf. I later found out you have to use the calculator built in the test, caluclators are only allowed at the testing center. When you ****** can a calculator be used on the test it states yes on the ******* website. I have a document IEP and I been attempting to take the test without any accommodations because GED would not have them approved in time. I wish I could have received a warning that calculators are not allowed since I did not answer any questions. It is a court requirement I passed my test by June 2nd and graduate with my class by June 5th. My mom called GED several times, sent emails and never received a response. I was told by the supervisor there should be a resolution by the end of the week. The end of the week has passed not resolution has been made. June 2nd is Monday. So, I guess I have to violate my court order and not be able to attend my graduation which is a once in a lifetime opportunity all because of a honest mistake. I just want the opportunity to retake my test even if I have to pay again.Business Response

Having a calculator is permitted for the in-person test only and is not allowed for the online test due to test security concerns. This is outlined on the Online test requirement page. While it is true that the Online test has been disabled, we still have the in-person test available for the student to schedule. I purchased (10/29/24) GED Ready practice tests from GED Testing Service and requested a refund well before the tests expired(2/12/25). Their return policy, which was linked in my confirmation email, states that refunds may be issued for digital products if repair or replacement is not possible. It specifically states that the 30-day non-refundable clause applies only to **** products not GED Ready.Despite this, *** refused my refund after ignoring my emails for months. When they finally responded, they cited a 30-day policy that was never disclosed at the time of purchase and still does not appear in the current version of their policy. This is misleading and unfair to customers.I had spoken to agents in their support/customer ********************** number who assured me I would receive a refund as I had requested it before the tests expired. They even escalated twice for me and yet I received no response until a recent escalation on 4/29/25. I did not use any of the tests I purchased as well.For reference, this is the return policy linked in my confirmation email and the one still displayed as of 4/30/25."We are very sorry if you did not find everything satisfactory with your order. Hello,While I appreciate that GED Testing Service ultimately issued the refund, it was only after weeks of being ignored and needing to escalate through the BBB that any action was taken. The companys response fails to acknowledge that they initially denied the refund based on a policy that was never disclosed at the time of purchase, and that multiple emails went unanswered.The refund was issued silently with no apology or explanation, and their final message attempts to present the situation as properly handled, which is misleading. I've taken 2 tests already and passed, I've studied for months to take this Science test and spent over 100$ of my hard earned money to get it done. I had it scheduled today for 3:45pm ON 12/26/2024. I live in ****** where I took the two other tests. For the holidays I went to visit my family in *******Since I was on vacation I had a lot of free time and thought it would be smart to take my next GED test while I was here. My family was very excited for me here and got me some presents to celebrate if I passed. So i paid for the test scheduled it in east coast time, took all ******* vue tests and passed and submitted a photo of me and my Oregon ID and the room I was studying in. Then It took me to a page with a recording of my face and said I was next in line. I was very excited to take the test. Then it kicked me out saying there was a proxy issue. I was very confused since I did nothing wrong and I was following all the steps like the previous tests I've taken. Its crazy cause I spent all this time studying saving up money just to do something better for my life and improve my education just for GED to take it away really hurts.I got very upset and called your customer ********************** and they said the reason why might be because I can't take the test in ****** while on vacation. I was already very upset on the phone and sad and the lady proceeds to tell me worse case sinareo i'm banned for doing nothing wrong besides trying to take a test I paid for. I had 0 idea that this would be an issue otherwise i wouldn't have paid for the test and tried taking it here. I was turned away on the day of testing because the test administrator told me that I looked nothing like I did in my ** card from when I was a teenager. The ** was also out-of-state but it was never specified that the ** had to be issued in the state you were taking the test in, only that it had to be goverment-issued. I gave the administrator my Massachusetts EBT card which had my full name on it, but she said it still wasnt proof that I lived here and that I was making her uncomfortable, then told me I couldnt take the test. But I don't understand why it wasn't enough for her to believe that I'm a resident of ************* when its impossible to get an EBT card without providing the government with extensive proof that you live in the state.Business Response

On August 26 I went on the *** official Website and scheduled a test , I paid the amount for the test in full. The test was approved and scheduled for the next day , the next day when i attempted to take the test their system was not showing anything .I contacted customer ********************** and spoke to ***** whom was very unpleasant and unprofessional, she was able to locate my test but told me that their cite was having issues for week now which I find weird , because why would you take funds from a ****** if your company is already aware that the cite is not working ?? She tells me that she can either offer me a refund or submit a case and help me reschedule. I decided to submit a case and escalate so I can reschedule instead . Today I called on September 03 I was speaking to a *** and she told me she didnt find any cases on my behalf! Told me that Daysy the previous ****** I spoke to was now on the case still .she offered me a refund I said no I dont need a refund because I have to take this text and I dont have the funds or cant wait until the funds come because I need to complete all my tests for military reasons! She told me she would reschedule me for the next day. I provided the time and everything then she proceeded to ask me for more money ! I said I dont have it and why couldnt she take the money I previously paid ? She told me then she had canceled the test I said that is the reason I was telling her not to cancel it is because I didnt have the funds to pay for another one plus she told me I could just reschedule it !she got frustrated on the call because I told her that she went against what I asked for and she rushed me to a supervisor and a rude way. The alleged supervisor was DAYSY the first ****** I spoke to that didnt submit a case .safe to say that she was sooo rude and would interrupt everything I would even think to say that my wife had to intervene and tell her to allow me to speak .a mess I am running out of characters to type but rudeInitial Complaint

I bought the *** Ready practice tests and was told that I would have a year to complete the tests. I did not get a year to complete the tests and tried for two weeks to get this situation handled and addressed appropriately. The customer ********************** have been absolutely ridiculous and have not listened to anything being told to them. I have contacted several customer ********************** agents through email, chat and phone. I still have not gotten this taken care of and don't expect it to. Most of the email responses have been the same sentence saying that I have a year to complete the tests. I purchased the tests in Oct. they have already expired and only one test was partially complete only about *************** as I only had a couple hours left to try to do the tests before they expired and was told that was my only option by one of the many customer ********************** agents I have spoken with. Seeing as how ***.com is such a popular site I find it completely disheartening that this company feels the need to take advantage of people trying to get their ***.Business Response

I purchased their ***+ program for $389. The program is supposed to include all 4 subjects, a personal *** advisor, study materials, test until you pass, practice tests, and 1-on1 tutoring. I have so far passed two practice tests and real tests. The only emails Ive received from my personal advisor are congratulation emails on passing, I only had access to science study materials and no other materials, and I have never got 1-on-1 tutoring. I reached out asking for a partial refund as I could have got away with buying the practice tests myself for $6.99 per subject and the *** tests for $43.50 which means I could have done this one my own for around $200 (not to mention most *** test centers refund you the money of the test after you pass them). In this economy people are struggling to eat myself included and its robbery to not be able to accommodate.
