On or about April 1 2022 I decided to place my belongings form my home in Newark De into a storage facility and I choose Liberto mini storage. I had a couple issues including after a late payment was satisfied the facility failed to remove a lock from my until for two months. I have been to the unit multiple times over my year tenure and just recently I saw mice presence (heavy) a few days later my boyfriend went to the unit to get a few items and assess the severity of the situation. The secretion and the presence was worse than we thought. He then proceeded to get all items out of the unit. I contacted the owner/company 2 times on the 1st and then I called on April 2 and sent another email still to no avail. I called a few more times. the only things from my unit that were salvageable were hard surfaced items that I am still working on cleaning before our 4yrold party this weekend. The only thing I received was a poorly written email from what seemed to be a minimally education guy claiming to be the Owner (*******). He said he will not compensate,. He said that the items were not covered in mouse excrement. . He also mentioned there was no mice and no signs of mice when he went to the unit on that immediate Tuesday. (few days since unit was cleared out) and that he took pictures. I can also prove that these photo's were taken at the unit precisely by matching up the location stamp my boyfriend has on his phone with date and time stamp on he phone. I have multiple photos of the lost items, condition of the unit, rodent presence etc. You can see clearly in the photos that it was an infestation due to the amount of damage. I told him that my damages incurred are around 8k and he mentioned that I was late on a couple payments. (September 22) he seemed to be upset that i told him he has a responsibility and due diligence when it comes to protecting items stored at his facility to the best of his ability. He has not sent me, upon request, his attorneys information.
