Absolutely a total debacle from the very start until the end. No cohesiveness whatsoever with any of staff from owners to office staff! Didn’t adhere to items we discussed initially and was not being recorded and or typed in by owners wife.
Wrong roof and siding colors were placed and we mentioned. Broken window never fixed until final walkthrough. Flashing and stuff not placed by final walkthrough either!
Owners wife typed in all and in our contract but lost the color shades to walls and carpet. Lighting issues noted and unevenness in various areas throughout the home with windows and doors. Shims put in place all around. Kitchen drawers uneven to close. Wrong shower put in and grout colors not even in color.
Bad craftsmanship and lack of good respectful customer service throughout the whole build and still getting push back from errors noted a few weeks after 1 walk through at end!
    Never would recommend them.
No cohesion Any of the Staff as a whole!

We are very sorry to see this review posted BEFORE we are finished with the punch list that has been provided to us. In truth, our electrician was actually at the house completing his items the day before this was posted. On September 19, 2022 Darrin Simpson, owner, along with BHC's service coordinator, completed a walk through with Greg Micklick and his realtor. Neither Christine Micklick nor Laura Simpson, co-owner, were present at the final walk-through. Greg Micklick expressed great satisfaction and happiness with the home to Darrin at that time and a very minimal punch list was presented. Since then, Christine Micklick has been sending items for correction after living in the home. Blue Hen Construction has been working through the punch list and will continue to do so as promised until the list has been completed. One "error"missing from the review: the Micklick's chose to reduce the level of their wood flooring selection to reduce costs. The original MORE expensive flooring was installed in error but the Micklick's received it anyway at NO additional cost to them. Any other incorrect items during construction were brought to our attention and it was MUTUALLY agreed upon to move forward without change. It also bears noting that this project was under way when the homebuilding industry was experiencing major disruption to the supply chain and a reduction in the labor force which is still not fully stabilized. We at Blue Hen Construction, are thankful to be on the other side and sincerely hope that once the Micklick's minor punch list items are completed, there will be a sense of satisfaction that comes from living in a well-built home. Despite this review, we will operate in integrity and continue to work with Greg Micklick to complete what is our responsibility on the post move-in punch list.
