In November 2023 I purchased a package through Amazon Publishing Network to write my own book. They acted as if they were the real “Amazon”, stating once they help me write and publishing my book they would list it on Amazon. This cost me about $1,300.00. Once the publishing was done, they listed my book on Amazon. I got a call one day in July, it was a online book company called “Best Buy book store” and they stated that my publishing company “Amazon Publishing Network” sent them some of my books as that was normal to send distributors books to help with sales. I confirmed this was legit through my publishing company. They stated that my book was doing very well and they had back orders for my book. When talking to my publishing company about this they were super happy for me and sent me GUARANTEED ROI packages to help fulfill these order. one ROI package was I pay $12,000.00 to have all the back ordered books made and sent out and I would receive %100 ROI within three weeks. The other one was I pay $6,500.00 and split the manufacturing cost with my publishers and they got a small percentage of the ROI. I opted for the $6,500.00 ROI package, which after fees totaled to be $7,000.00. Once I paid the $7,000.00 I got completely ghosted by them. I tried everything to reach out and it started off as all/any excuse and then they blocked me on all forms of contact. I never got anything from them. Nothing from my book listing on Amazon, no reply of any sort and most importantly, no ROI of any kind. It has been months now and I havnt gotten any word back. They stole $8,300.00 from me. I wrote this book for my children. My mom passed away when I was 15 years old. My kids never got to meet their grandma. It was a children’s book explaining even though they never got to meet her, she’s always with them. They not only stole money from me, but stole something very special I made in dedication to my mom. It has put me in a dark place. Something needs to be done!!

On May 7, 2024, I signed a Service Agreement for printing and sale of 3000 books. The Service Agreement guaranteed a full money back guarantee of investment by August 5, 2024.
After paying the invoice, I have not been able to contact Amazon Publishing or its agents after repeated emails, calls ans a certified letter.
I am requesting help to recover my investment.

Earlier this year, while on Amazon.com, I clicked on ad by Amazon Publishing Network (DBA Amazon Self Publication). They are a hybrid publishing company that helps authors to self-publish their books on Amazon. I took advantage of a discount package. It was my first-time so I set a lot of frustrations off to the side and didn't know until after I was in a number of author groups that I had been somewhat taken advantage of & talked into purchasing things I didn't need (i.e., an expensive ISBN, barcode, etc.). There were issues with the editors making inexcusable mistakes & delays (saying there would be updates & then not having them on said days), but I was eager to get my book out, and overall, the printed paperback turned out nice, so I initially gave them a good review & let the other things go. The majority of my readers are Kindle readers (& in other countries where there are no Amazon printing presses) so the ebook is VERY important. A reader complained to me about the lack of Table of Contents, difficulty navigating it, & how whoever uploaded it for me was deceptive & lazy, At first the project manager denied it, lied & said the reader hadn't purchased it & was just looking at a "preview" screen. This is FALSE. To make a VERY LONG story short, there were further lies & contradictions to what Amazon KDP told me. After a WEEK of getting diff. excuses, lies & delays, I finally said enough, and requested a refund for the ebook part of the deal so I can hire someone else to fix this. It is humiliating, it impacts my bottom line, I'm tired of them saying they worked on something only to find out they did NOT (they're supposed to fix the TOC in KindleCreate & did not do it yet), and then more excuses and guilt trips about the PM's personal life (last time it was being sick and this time it's a fiance in the hospital). I am empathetic but that's not my problem as the customer. At this point, I've lost trust & just want to be done with these people, & my money back.
