      This company took advantage of my daughters death. My husband and I had our taxes and my daughters taxes done by the Savant office in Dover/Middletown offices. Our daughter was killed September 5, 2023. I had her estate and had to report and file her taxes. We were quoted $1,250.00 for our tax preparation. My daughter was 25 years old at her time of death and worked for the state of Delaware ,my husband works at Walmart, and I work for the state of Delaware as an Aide. WE DO NOT HAVE MONEY! When we were called to pick up and pay for the services rendered we were told it was $1,250.00 for each of our returns. I told the receptionist what I was quoted for our returns to be done and she checked with Christine Lawrence CPA, Tax and Consultation Leader/Member Owner. She returned telling us we had to pay $2,500.00 for our returns to be filed and I misunderstood. Seriously, $2,500.00 for couple and a deceased child.
      I couldn’t go through the pain of redoing our taxes, I couldn’t, my heart barely made it through this. They were well aware of my pain and confusion of trying to file taxes for a deceased child.
      I paid $2,500.00 for their service and owed more money than I have ever paid out for ever. My daughter use to do our taxes, they really were not that difficult.
      When you lose a child everything becomes difficult and you reach out, be careful, some businesses see your vulnerability and WILL take advantage.
