In March 2025, I hired Damage Control Solutions to complete the final stages of restoring my home after an electrical fire. The job included cleaning, sealing, painting the entire house, and refinishing hardwood floors. I paid a 50% deposit to secure the work. What followed was a disaster.

After day one of priming, I found paint overspray everywhere: brand new LVP, electronics, personal items, and flooring. The team admitted to running out of protective plastic but kept working anyway. They primed over command strips, removable shelving, and left my surfaces covered in drips. Instead of taking responsibility, they defended themselves, blamed the furniture placement, or minimized the damage by insisting things could be cleaned.

I generously estimated the value of the work completed until that point far as 68% of my initial deposit, despite many parts being unfinished or poorly done. They claimed more yet still acknowledged several thousand dollars of my deposit remained.

Then, the day before floor refinishing was scheduled, they insisted on a NEW 50% deposit for the floors in order to begin. They claimed the flooring contractor was independent and that unused funds from my original deposit couldn't be applied to his work, contradicting previous conversations.

Since they still had thousands in unused funds from my first payment, I couldn't in good conscience give them more. I offered to pay the contractor directly, but they refused — insisting a check for this second deposit HAD to be made out to them.

When I would not agree to this change in terms, they canceled the flooring contractor entirely the day before, leaving my home in worse condition than when they started.

They’ve offered no apology, no cleanup, no compensation, and no refund. I’m left with a damaged home, ruined belongings, and thousands lost.

Avoid Damage Control Solutions. They are unprofessional, careless, and completely lack integrity in their work and towards their customers.
