We were a customer about 10 yrs ago however we made the switch due to extremely early pick up times in town limits in our neighborhood. We called multiple times prior to making the switch and multiple times after making the switch as they were picking up between 4/430am. Every call they took our address so keep that in mind. A year and a half ago we went to the town to amend times people/companies can begin work/pick up etc which they did. Immediately after every two weeks when recycle came through and every two weeks thereafter the driver of the recycle truck began stopping in front of our house to dump the bin and compact. We are a development of 80 homes which everyone has different disposal companies and some home do not have trash service. We let it go for about 6 months and then began calling which stopped nothing. 1 month ago he did not stop in front of our house as I was at my mailbox.2 wks ago I had a conversation with the driver where he said "I have to stop here, have a great day" I was on the phone with BH when he came back for his 2nd round (does this every 2 wks) and waved as he went by. Multiple calls to BH no call backs ,the town called spoke immediately to manager he said we have to be careful of wires and trees. We have none of those things in the middle of the road. I informed Tiffany on 6/11/25 if this continues, because he's doing it on purpose, harassment will be filed. Shame on BH for allowing this behavior to continue and employing such a nasty driver. Move him to another route if that's who you choose to employ. Let me add the bins on this truck are pretty big and at most maybe there are 20 customers out of 80 back here that does not warrant dumping, compressing sometimes 5 mins at a time revving the engine all in front of a non customer. We have made it very clear he is doing this on purpose which also tells me someone or some people have also told the driver which address is the person who is complaining. Not a good look at all.

We have spoken with this customer regarding this situation as well as the driver. And while she has called the Town, they deem this to be a non-issue. We are operating the truck safely and in a public space. The driver will be more aware of his surroundings and will work to operate his truck further from her residence.

I would like to take the time to thank you for your response to my review. You are correct that we have spoken and the town of Dagsboro did indeed call your company as well.
After many calls trying to rectify the situation that's been going on for over a year and a half. My last conversation was with ****, who I asked if she was a manager, she responded Yes. I now know that she is the president of the company. **** Mears. The tone, lack of interest or an apology in that conversation was astounding. Not only was I laughed at twice, she insinuated that she was concerned for her employees safety. When I asked what she was insinuating she changed the subject. I received the same excuses that the route manager has given which is the recycle trucks have to dump and compact where they safely can as they have to look out for wires and trees. **** had no response when I asked if her or the route manager had been out to our development to notice that we do not have any wires or overhanging trees on our roads. I also got no response when I stated, since the driver told me he had to stop in front of my house, why did he not do it a few weeks ago when I was standing in my driveway? **** also stated that someone had showed her a video that I put up on Facebook from 2 weeks ago showing that he did not stop in front of my property. When I asked how does she know which house is mine? I again got no response. She however did state well. Maybe someone told him not to stop in front of your house which my response to her was either, he's being told not to stop in front of the house which he decided to stop at the property line each way or to keep doing it because it doesn't matter either way the driver is playing childish games. I informed her that there are plenty of other places that he can dump and compact specifically in front of a customer's house because now he's bringing in two neighbors into it that also work from home. I also informed her if he does not stop I will file a report with the police department because they have been well informed multiple times including the driver that this is a problem. We do not think it's too much to ask for the trash company to be doing their duties where they're paying. Customers are other than what we know to be true because of our calls and complaints they ask our address. He obviously is being told which house is complaining and this is why he's doing it. It's not only clear to us in our home. It's clear to our neighbors. We've been watching it for over a year and a half.

Prepaid for the first 3 months of service and didn’t sign a contract. After 4 weeks, I had to move out unexpectedly. Requested a prorated refund for the unused portion, was denied by customer service rep via phone. The rep probably pocketed the money. How unprofessional!

Waste management sold my account to blue hen without any notice to me. The first few weeks things were great. For the past 4 weeks my trash has not been picked up. My husband has repeatedly called and blue hen promises to send a truck for pickup yet no truck has been sent. I have no where to put my trash. Not only have we spoken to representatives that answer the phone but also to a manager. How does this company stay in business? They offered 20.00 off my next bill. I just want my trash picked up.

Terrible service. I’m just one year of being a customer I’ve had to call 4x because my drivers are too lazy to get out of their trucks & get the trash that’s left next to container. 3 out of the 4 times I’ve called the company, nothing was done about it. The only time they sent the driver back was when I finally said I’m canceling my service.

Based on the account notes, it appears the customer does not have the proper level of service for the amount of trash and recycling material being produced. We offer a larger service which would likely solve the problem.
