I know for sure they are fraudulent people. They could still be sued for defamation of character. They try and play with people's money. They are probably even guilty of embezzlement. Do not attempt to order any subscriptions from them.Too many regret subscriptions from them

I have been trying to deal with the News-Journal billing department for the last three years. They have changed my type of subscription several times. My subscription was renewed without pre-approval more than once. I was told I consented to this online. Since I made all of my subscription changes by phone, I did not consent online. My account was just renewed for a year without any kind of notice. The representative told me that my account was renewed on January 29th, and a snail mail letter to tell me it was renewed was sent to me on February 1st. I was also told they do not make refunds, but I can get the paper for half the price they just charged me, but I will have to be a customer until 2026 rather the 2025, and I can do nothing about. I did tell them I would report them on this website. They didn't seem to care - not even the supervisor with whom I spoke. FYI - I have blocked them as a vendor on my credit card so they cannot bill me again. Beware of the News-Journal!

they are frauds...they are retarded with other peoples money
they don't know how to even pay the people that work for them
and they swear it wont reach the Wage and Hour Division.
The people upstairs...,so called management, don't even have Algebra classes or knowledge in school
but those fools handle the money and payroll
No doubt people call them out for money and subscriptions
because they have no... know how or job skills in that department

The worst ever!! I’m done with the repeated lies and broken promises by The News Journal billing staff. In June our digital delivery bill increased from $9.99 to $14.99 without notice. I called to cancel my subscription and was offered a special rate of $3.95 for a one year subscription. Again, in July I was charged $14.99. I called again to cancel my subscription and was told they couldn’t offer the $3.95 for my monthly subscription, but could offer a $4.99 monthly subscription and was told I would not receive a bill the next month. And, yes in August, I again was charged $14.99. Called them again, to be told my credit card would be credited for the two months of over charges and they would honor the $3.95 monthly subscription that was offered in June. During this conversation we were even given a reference number for the communication with the customer service representative. So, now it’s October, still no credit, and yes, of course, another $14.99 charge. The customer service representatives you talk to always apologize for the lack of follow through by the previous customer service representative, and assures you they will follow through and take care of it. The response from the billing representatives appears to be scripted as the the last two reps said the exact same thing regarding my concerns. We also ask each time for a verification email be sent verifying the new rate and that the credit was applied. We have yet to receive any such email. When making this last call regarding our concerns we provided the reference number given to us during the call from last month’s conversation, to be told they could not identify that number. Ironically, within 10 minutes of canceling our subscription we received an email saying if you change your mind, we’d be happy to start your subscription again and we’re sorry to see you go. Crooks, liars and a horrible business.

Billing Problems. Cancelled subscription because of billing problems. When our old rate period ran out we received bills at a high rate. I called and was promised a adjusted lower rate like we had. I was told by Josh not to pay the bill and we would be getting a new correct one and to pay that. That was 3 months ago and we are still getting billed at higher rate. I stopped the subscription because it appears like the only was to get this straightened out. Also they charge a $5 service charge a month if you pay by check . Thank goodness they don't have our credit card.

There seems to be no connection between what they tell you and what happens.
