I called and requested a price to replace my clutch, I was given a quote of 940$ and advised to drop my car off on a Monday and it would be ready on Wednesday. On Thursday I called and asked if it was completed and was told by the mechanic that a part was crushed while replacing my clutch but they told me they would continue to work on it. On Monday I called to check that status and was told the new clutch was defective and they could not make it work. My car was drivable when dropped off so I asked them to put the old clutch back in so I could at least get it home, they refused stating it would be another 1,000 for labor. I had no choice but to pay for a tow which was another 400$, when I met the tow truck at the New Castle location I saw that there was damage to the exterior and interior of the car. When I addressed this with the mechanic they told me it was not their problem and refused to speak with me any further.

Mr. ********* called and asked for a quote to replace the clutch and flywheel in his 2006 Honda Civic with 205,619 miles. He told us he already purchased the parts. The labor estimate would be $950.00 (total invoice was $942.50) since he brought in his own parts.

We installed his clutch and when we tried to drive his 2006 Honda Civic there was a problem with the usage of the clutch. We decided to remove the transmission again to determine if there was an error during the installation process. It was determined that the input bearing was cocked during installation and had been crushed. We bought a new bearing, replaced and reassembled the vehicle.

After the reinstallation, clutch activation was only slightly better but not drivable. We installed a new slave drive cylinder at no charge to the customer to determine if this would help with clutch activation. There was no change. At this time, the customer was informed that there was still an issue with his 2006 Honda Civic and that the clutch assembly purchased by the customer was defective. Mr. ********* asked for his old clutch to be reinstalled. He was informed that any more work to be done he would be charged. He declined to pay anything more.

Cottman Transmission can not take responsibility for the aftermarket stage 4 racing clutch provided by Mr. *********. The parts are under warranty by the part manufacturer. (The warranty is stated on the Clutchmax website.) Mr. ********* should contact them about his defective part.

At no point after the transaction was completed did Mr. ********* inform us of any damage to his vehicle.
