I had a horrible experience at the hair school today. I arrived and requested for ****** who normally does my hair. I was told that she was not in. The rep at the front then assigned me to another hair dresser. Unfortunately, I did not know that it would be a male. When he came out I used the nicest words that I could. I told him that I had a really bad experience. I asked him to, "please dont take offense" , that it was "nothing against him", "I'm sure that he was great at what he does", but that "I have a PHOBIA about having a man do my hair". I told him that I would prefer to have a female hairdresser because having a male would cause me emotional distress. Not long after I was assigned to a hairdresser name ******, but as I waited for ****** I was approached by the director who tried to force me to have the male hair dresser do my hair. I had only two options. Get a refund or receive his service. She said that she did not have anyone else to do my hair. I told her that it was ok and thay I could return tomorrow. She ignored my statement. She insisted that he was good at what he does which is why she has him do her hair. Although I was not very happy with the directors handling of the issue, I worked very hard at bringing forth a peaceful and non offensive resolve. I am now at the doctors office and could not continue working for the day. The stress from the incident would not allow. Please be mindful of the health and sensitive requests from the customers before you inflict them with emotional distress. I'm a paying customer and I have a right not to want a male to do my hair.
