I booked the party room a month ago, and visited the store weeks ago to explain what I wanted to do which was a r&b themed party because it was a party thrown at grottos weeks previously. Was completely honest and asked all the questions to make the staff more comfortable after the previous party was a disaster. The week of the event I walked in to pay the deposit and was told the new Gm told me no. I was told to call John ****** who was very rude, he hung up the phone on me, called me bro and dude which was very unprofessional and was clearly frustrated. I then called Michael ***** who was his boss. He seemed concerned about the issue at first just for him to call me the next day and say “I fudged about a lot of the stuff” pointing to me as if I was lying about what event I was trying to have. I spoke to a manager Dawn about the party the most and informed that I would bring a DJ, have both party rooms and communicated how it will be set up. There was zero lying on my party and so I tried to explain to Michael how there had to be miscommunication. He begins to chuckle and clearly annoyed at the situation and with me explaining my part as I know I wasn’t lying. This whole situation was very unprofessional and will telling my peers to avoid Grottos pizza as I felt discriminated because my situation was declined and was never notified because a group of people who look similar to me had a bad party and I was called a liar which I will never be ok with. I have done events with multiple local communities and was hoping to grow a relationship with grottos, very disappointing.
