5 starsWe had a 3 season room added to our home. Tyme Builders did an excellent job. This family owned business takes the time to work with their customers and provide quality service. They were reliable, honest and hard working folks who care about their customers. It was satisfying to work with a company who maintains a strong work ethic. In addition to the room, we hired them to paint our doors and shutters. Rick, the painter, does outstanding work. We plan to hire them when we decide to paint the interior. Great job!Review fromDonna D

My husband and I used Tyme Builders to make extensive renovations to our fairly new home in Seaford, DE. We had a large screened in porch with knee wall added...with stone wall and woodstove, reconfigured a tiny laundry space to a workable room...brilliant design, made upgraded custom changes to the kitchen, built upstairs club room and closets, moved hot water heater to garage, added utility sink, built garage shelves, new flooring added, new appliances added, new cabinets added...the list goes on... the owner, staff and service has been phenomenal...everyone is kind, caring, (Bev (Mrs. Brown), Jessica, Melissa, John, Brendan, George, Cody) professional.....and they are soooo clean...!!! The work site is cared for... amazing..and I have small dogs! ....I lived in the home while all this work has been done!!! We are so happy with all of the changes. Tyme was patient and excel at problem solving...because sometimes you change your mind or want things added/altered...and Brian and everyone are so good at making your wants happen. We were happy with the quality of the work done. The porch with the stone wall is soooo gorgeous!!
Tyme is reasonably priced, licensed...they know what they're doing. When we need any changes in the future to our home, we will use Tyme again. I'm a retired high school teacher of 31 years...have worked with and around thousands of people....working with Tyme is a breath of fresh air...you can rely on them. I doubt we'll ever move, but if we do, Brian Brown will build our next home. I really know what I'm talking about..they've been working here for several months...( I'm no relative; we just got to know the people/company while the work was being done.) Mostly everyone in our neighborhood loves Tyme Builders.Review fromKathy T

Tyme Builder just finished a job for us on a house we bought that needed to be completely gutted and remodeled. I would never have thought that anyone could have made this house look like a beautiful comfortable home but Tyme Builder did it. He worked with us and we worked with him. We have a business of our own and we know how hard it is to get and keep help and to get materials. Brian has his own little showroom making it easy to take samples and if he doesn't have what you want his office staff will find it. Everyone works together in the office to get things ordered and if not available, they will show you things that are that are very similar. Brian showed up on the job site many times to look over things and to meet us and ask us how we are feeling about everything. He truely does care. We are very happy with the work that has been done and the home is beautiful. We would definitely call Tyme Builder again for any future needs !

NOVEBER 2022 - MARCH 2023
PORCH ADDITION/KITCH BACKSPLASH - NOT EVEN A FULL HOUSE.
We started interactions with Brian August 2022. Had several meetings about what we wanted and loved his personality and enthusiasm. We were told the job wouldn't be started until they had all the materials that way they could roll through it. We were given the go beginning of November 2022 and was told by the middle of December our project would be done. It was not. They constantly left screws, nails, bits, trash in my yard/existing deck. They knew I had dogs & a young child. When they took their Christmas break for over a week and didn't return until January we weren't sure when they were coming back. My yard had to be constantly accessible for whenever they chose to show. Kitchen tile backsplash was "chicken shit" as Brian stated the first time they did it and had to rip the whole thing out and redo it a second time. Deck boards cut at an angle with huge gaps where the boards didn't touch. The fix was a patch and Brian stated because of the weather flex they wouldn't be flush. They had to redo that as well. Versetta Stone tile for my fire place wall/landing hasn't been in a full month and Hans cracks, gaps, spaces due to improper install. A piece even fell out when I showed Brian I wasn't happy and he had Brendan come over to glue it back in. We were told his rep would come out to see what can be done. Only to be met with absolute refusal. Avoid this company at all costs. Brian didn't even really monitor the project. He only stopped out a couple of times which didn't even seem like he checks the work. He was supposed to come back again to check but only showed up with emails that I know we have sent. They harassed us about payment even with their work being completely unacceptable. They were still paid and still refuse to come fix their "workmanship"Tyme Builder, Inc.

Ms Rollman's screen porch project began in November 2022. We began her countertop and back splash project after Thanksgiving so that we would not disrupt any holiday preparations. When we give projected completion dates they are never less than 90 days. This allows for delays due to product availability and inclement weather. Ms Rollman received her Certificate of Occupancy from Sussex County on 01/25/2023. This signifies that the project was completed and passed all inspections.
We provide trash receptacles for all our projects and consider it a point of pride that we keep all our jobsites neat and tidy.
Ms Rollman was notified that our company closes the week between Christmas & New Years day and would be returning on January 2, 2023.
As with any project, we needed access to her home to work. As we worked consistently to get her project done, we did need access on a daily basis. Ms Rollman was always notified when we would need access, via phone or email.
Ms Rollman's deck was constructed in a standard manner that allows for expansion and contraction due to seasonal temperature changes. This means there are small gaps between the boards to allow for said expansion and contraction.
Ms Rollman's fireplace wall and landing were constructed within the manufacturer's guidelines. When she expressed her dissatisfaction with its construction, we contacted our supply rep, and in turn he contacted the manufacturer. Pictures have been submitted and preliminary reports have been that they see no issue with the installation. We are awaiting notification from the manufacturer as to when they may be able to come out and take a look at the installation.
As owner and operator of Tyme Builder, Inc. Brian Brown has many "hats" to wear in the company. He employs a Field Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operation and he does monitor every job that we do.
At the completion of the project, it was Ms Rollman's responsibility to notify the finance company so that we could get paid. Up until this notification, we had not received any compensation for any of the materials or labor put into the project. When completed, the finance company notified us that she had not done what was necessary to finish the payment process. She was unavailable via phone and did not respond to emails for several days. Up until this point, we had never had an issue with communication with Ms Rollman.Daniella R.

You shouldn't advertise financing with a company that doesn't pay you throughout the project if this is an issue for your business financially. This is not the customers issue to deal with.
1. We were told middle of December initially and never updated on a completion date until after returning in January. Then told middle of January which led to the beginning of February. All by Brian himself.
2. We were told by Brian himself at the start of the project that the project wouldn't start until he had all the materials as mentioned above. We were never told about any delays in materials.
3. Providing a wheel barrel & trailer as "trash receptacles" is fine if the trash can be contained which it would tend to fly around. Nails, screws, bolts that I had to sweep/constantly pick up.
4. There were many days where no one would show up when my home was accessible. I even submitted pictures asking who was on my property to which I never received an answer.
5. I was not always notified when access was needed which is why I even received calls on how they could access my home while I was on my way to work. I had electricians show up on weekends completely unannounced twice.
6. There was at least a 1/2" gap in the one corner deck boards that were mitered. Brians personal solution was to cover it up with a shaved piece of deck board. He personally took this upon himself as something that looked good.
7. I have received work from the manufacture of Versetta Stone stating that it was installed incorrectly and cut improperly. There should never had been a fill used nor should we see the gaps.
My dissatisfaction started before I signed off on my project in early February with the loan company which now, I wish I never did. I expressed my dissatisfaction with Brian who made a point to personally come over and glue a piece of the Versetta back on with Brendan and proceed to tell me "punch work doesn't hold up payment and I have a lot of money into this project". Feeling pressured and wanting them to be paid and trusting they would fix this work was a huge mistake.
8. While I understand the owner wears "many hats" this is not my concern as a customer when the owner cannot even hold his job supervisor accountable because he is the one doing the work.
I did not respond for 3 days once the project was "complete" due to the dissatisfaction of how the stone looked. Tyme called me 4 times a day. This was the most "communication I had from them". I did however speak with the finance company and discuss the issues I was having and wanted to clear up. Brian even personally called me Friday morning that same week stating again "you didn't give us a punch out list, punch out work never holds up payment and we have a lot of money wrapped up in this project".
I strongly express again if you are not financially able to support your business and take on the cost of a project, I would strongly encourage you to take financing available off of your signs.Review fromGL J

1 starI can't begin to tell you how bad our experience was with this contractor, after living in the same house for over 35 years finding a new wife & starting a new life & wanting our dream home we moved into our December 17th & the problems started with many broken promises to drywall cracking, concrete cracking & flaking, nail pops, a humidifier never installed, our painting was not finished & our quartz counter tops are of poor quality, the biggest problem was a 16 by 24 shed that was in our contract & it was never built, we had to pay Callaway Construction to build it & finish their job. there were weeks that we never saw anybody working on our house it took over 240 days to finish our house & it's still not done we were told it would take 120 days after signing our contract witch was in the first part of April, we kept asking Tyme builders in September & November how much longer until our house would be done after seeing them working other houses in our neighborhood & ours not being touched, they never had an answer they didn't care we told them we had sold our other home & the new buyers wanted to move in they didn't care, we ended up having to rent our old home for $500.00 a week for 3 weeks & then because thanksgiving was coming & the new buyers wanted to be in their new house my wife & I had to move into a hotel for 3 weeks that costing us over $2000,00 & they didn't care I have nothing good to say about this company, stay away they don't keep their promises & they really don't careReview fromCarol K.

5 starsI cannot boast enough about Brian and his crew at Tyme Builders. It’s absolutely refreshing to deal with a person with such integrity in this world today. Our previous home sold quickly. We looked at many homes on the market, but saw nothing we really liked.
We first met with Brian at the construction sight of our now home. It was framed out but that was it. That was the beginning of January 2020. We loved the plans but needed to be assured we could close by April 15th or we needed to keep looking. He said it would be possible baring any unforeseen problems and would send us progress pictures and update us weekly, He is a man of his word, He did all that and more.
We closed on the 10th, and moved into our Beautiful Home. His attention to detail and his signature touches adds to the beauty of our home.
We highly recommend Tyme Builders for your New Construction or Renovation needs.
