    I am a new resident in the state of Delaware, and I was seeking out a new tax preparer. I found the Killian Accounting services online and saw some positive reviews, so I contacted the company. I made an appointment in March 2024 to prepare my 2023 Federal and state tax documents. I met with ***** ******* and gave him my documents. Some time passed, and I made several attempts to contact him. He didn't respond and I gave him some time because he said he had a death in the family. Also, I went online and discovered that he filed an extension on my behalf, which led me to believe he was working on it. In August 2024, I visited the Delaware Department of Revenue and discovered that the state didn't receive my tax forms, which was very concerning. In addition, I was made aware of the fact that I was billed a penalty for late filing. I immediately found another tax preparer (H&R Block), filed my taxes and paid what was owed, minus the penalty (I requested an appeal based on my circumstances). It should be noted that every year my adult life, I've filed and paid my taxes on time (except during some of my military deployments, but they were filed and paid on time based on federal law).
