I unknowingly booked services for an unlicensed stylist on 3/14/24 and I was charged a deposit of $25 . The appointment was scheduled for 3/17/24 @8am.

When I arrived to appointment on 3/17/24 @8am . I rang the ring door bell and there was no answer. The individual providing these services did not answer the phone or provide a response to my message until 15 mins after the 8am scheduled appointment. I then requested a refund of the $25 fee that was charged and the individual refused to refund me. There where no services provided for the individual to keep the $25.

***** parked in front of the salon at 7:50am on 3/17/23 for her 8am appointment, but never came into the salon. The location is a business and the doors were unlocked. ***** never came up to the door or rang the door bell until she returned at 8:24am. I arrived to the salon at 7:40am to prepare for her appointment. Once I finished preparing for her appointment I started cleaning up the salon. Around 8:10am I checked my phone to see if she reached out to say she is running late. I have a 15 minute grace period, so I typically don’t reach out to clients about being late until closer to that time. I noticed that she texted me at 7:50am stating she arrived early and will be waiting outside. I texted ***** back at 8:13am saying that she can come in. A couple minutes goes by and I called her at 8:16am to make sure she knew the which door to enter. At that point she said she already left and was on the highway headed home. I tried explaining that I was moving around cleaning up so I didn’t see her text, but reminded her that this is a salon and she could have just walked in. I explained that I’m prepped and ready for her if she would like to come back to be serviced. ***** continued to yell demanding  I return her non refundable deposit. I again invited her to come back to be serviced, and at that point she said she will return with the police. She returned at 8:24am, and the police arrived shortly after. I’ve included images from our security cameras that show me in the salon, and her black suv right out front at 8:02am. She was a new client so initially I had no idea what car she would be in or even what she looked like. However, where she was parked she had a clear view of the inside of the salon and should have been able to see the lights on with me moving around inside. Her deposit was $25. The deposit goes toward purchasing the hair extensions needed for her appointment, and the time it takes to prep for her appointment. It is explained on my website that deposits are non refundable. ***** also agreed to this policy when booking her appointment. In the state of Delaware hair braiders are not required to be licensed when providing a braid service. She booked passion twist, which is a type of protective braid style. No where on my website or social media pages have I ever stated that I was a licensed stylist. She  also never asked me if I was licensed. ***** chose to not enter the building at the time of her appointment. She chose to leave, and also chose to not return to be serviced when invited back.
