Navient took ~8x amt from autopay than agreed, would not send info re: documents for # of loan t made w any forbearance/deferrment included and during the $0 due/mo. for IBR. Biden has student loan payments on pause (and has this whole time they were taking the agreed $55/mo, also when the 8x ~$440/mo without consent, and now while sending my non-pmt status to credit bureau when pmts are not sch to restart until the end of Dec 2022 per President Biden). I've been paying on my loans in one way or another for ~22 years, which may be the reason they won't provide me with the total number / types of payments made fearing debt relief (after 20yr). I cannot understand how the 3 main credit bureaus allowed an obvious lie to affect my credit score, now ~110 points lower, when it is known thru the U.S. that student loan pmts are on hold, with the dates being pushed further back. How are they able to ruin my credit for this, while my other student loans are the ones keeping me appraised of the president's pause in payments each time it occurs? Navient has been forcing pmt since ~ Feb 2021, increased & took without permission ~4+ pmts early 2022, all while on presidental pause for pmts, now making my credit so low I cannot even borrow from affirm for which my credit was perfect and loans were high amount over $1500-3900. I don't know how to fix this, especially to the effect it has already damaged my credit. How long will taking it off a report, if I ever achieve it likely to take? I will be reaching out to the obudsman, dept of education student debt, and any other entity who may be able to help. I would appreciate anything you are able to give, if even just direction on how to stop the fraudulent activity and the negligent reporting agencies.Business Response

I would like to make a formal complaint against Navient. I am on an income driven repayment plan through the Federal Student Aid department of the government. Navient is blatantly ignoring orders from government and trying to charge ridiculous amounts of $37k for a payment. Navient is ignoring Presidential Orders to pause Student loans and continuously reporting me as delinquent and bringing my credit. They are ignoring government orders so they can harass former students and try and embezzle more money than should be owed. Despite already being in an income-driven repayment plan through the government and the government having student loans on pause. Navient sends me repeated emails that I’m delinquent and to apply for an income-driven repayment plan. How can I be delinquent if payments are paused? How can I enroll in an IDR if I’m already in one. The government tells me I don’t owe Navient anything yet. Navient is trying to put themselves above the government and the law for their own financial benefit. This is an atrocity and unethical and this company should no longer be allowed to operate.Business Response

I'm attempting to get on an income -driven repayment plan for Navient student loans and have sent in my financial information twice. Plus, at one point I understood that I was on the repayment plan, but actually not for an entire year, so this added a lot of interest and fees.
The government wants Navient to use income-driven repayment plans and has sued them for not pursuing this option.
It sounds like they have sent my loan back into regular repayment, charging me huge payments I won't be able to afford.
When it is obvious someone wants this repayment plan, why don't they assign someone to follow up instead of replying with generic letters?? I'm happy to pay what I can-- maybe $50 a month, especially until they approve me for the income-driven repayment plan.
Sincerely,
Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my complaint and have determined that this does not resolve my issue. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Hello,I have not heard from Navient: My complaint is not resolved. Apologies for any delay responding. Someone from Navient who is informed about the relevant policies needs to explain what information they require to place me on an income-driven repayment plan. I sent them the complete recent information from my most regular job, and it apparently was not sufficient. It doesn't seem like the call center workers have the right information. They will soon be putting more dings on my credit score if they haven't done so already.Currently, they may be ramping up for the debt forgiveness program. However, they told me my payments had not been paused during COVID.Sincerely,
Regards,

I am writing in to dispute an uncharged amount related to the repayment of my loans - the bill dated April 4, 2022. In March of 2022, I reached a payment agreement that was to last until November 2022, at which time, I could re-apply if my situation was the same. The agreed amount to pay monthly was $282.14, exactly. I gave my account information, and the charges began.
Since mid April, I have been harassed and hounded to the point of ad nauseam about a charge that was debited from my account. The charge is dated on my bank statement attached, April (4/4/2022) 4th, 2022 and is in the amount of $282.14. The amount paid is NOT an error. I would know if I wasn’t missing $282.14 and had extra funds in my account. Since this mistake on NAVIENT’s part, it’s been consistently reported to all three of my credit reports that I’m behind on payments or haven’t made a payment. THIS IS FRAUDULENT!
I signed into a repayment agreement for this exact reason and am still being penalized because of NAVIENT and it’s harassing practices. Beyond the incorrect credit reporting, I’ve received countless emails, phone calls and even miscellaneous letters in the mail asking for additional payment. If I could afford additional payments, I would make it, hence applying for a repayment plan. I am asking that this be corrected immediately, before I contact legal counsel. This is over a $282.14 payment that somehow NAVIENT can’t account for but is placing blame on me, the borrower. While this has been SALLIE MAE/NAVIENTS typical behavior, blaming the borrower for their mistakes, I ask that this be taken care of, cleared and documentation sent to me for records.Business Response

I would like to please review their business practices since the company transfer accounts from Sallie Mae and reported late payments when the accounts were in forbearance. I have called, send letters, many attempts to get this issue resolved and nothing. Even during covid I never stopped making my payments and they reported late payments. Please helpBusiness Response

MY LOANS ARE BEING REPORTED AS LATE, I AM ON AN INCOME BASED REPAYMENT PLAN THAT IS NOT DUE TO RECERTIFY UNTIL 01.2023. NAVIENT DOES NOT CARE AND IS REPORTING ME PASSED DUE, I REACHED OUT TO THEM AND THEY TOLD ME TO RECERTIFY AGAIN WHICH WHEN YOU GO TO PROCESS STOPS YOU AND CLEARLY STATES "OUR RECORDS INDICATE YOU ARE NOT DUE TO RECERTIFY INCOME UNTIL 01.01.2023". I FILED A BBB COMPLAINT, RECIEVED AN EMAIL RESPONSE FROM NAVIENT INCLUDING THE SAME APPLICATION IN PAPER FORM WITH INSTRUCSTIONS ON TOP TO FILL OUT ONLINE, I FOLLOW THE PROMPTS FOR THE SAME MESSAGE TO APPEAR. I HAVE CALLED THEM BACK AND LEFT MESSAGE NO CALL BACK, I SENT EMAIL RESPONSE AND NO RESPONSE FROM THEM, TODAY I FORWARDED THE SAME SCREENSHOT TO THEM 4 TIMES AND I AM HERE TO FILE ANOTHER COMPLAINT. THEYVE HAVE ENOUGH LEGAL ISSUES WITH THE LAWSUIT THEY JUST LOST, THEY NEED TO GET RIGHT AND FOLLOW THE WHAT THE GOVERNMENT SAYS AND NOT DO WHAT THEY WANT. I WANT MY LOANS UPDATED TO SHOW THAT THEY ARE NOT LATE, AND I WANT THE IDR TO BE PLACED BACK ON MY ACCOUNT AS IT SHOULD BE UNTIL 01.01.2023.Business Response

Naviet is harassing me with phone calls several times a week looking for someone who I do not know (who goes by the name Constantine). I have informed them on multiple occasions that they have the wrong number and have ask them to take me off of their phone list. However, the phone calls have not stopped. I have received hundreds of calls from them over the last several months.Business Response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my complaint and have determined that this does not resolve my issue. Here's the response I received:
> Unfortunately, we were unable to locate an account associated to the phone number you provided. However, we are pleased to confirm that we have taken steps to cease contacting your phone number of 301-785-7454.The business has contacted me hundreds of times over the course of several months and has no record of calling me? That's an outright lie. It just proves to me further that this is an illegitimate business who is harassing private citizens and accepts no responsibility.
They have given me a direct line to someone who I can contact should I receive another all. I will of course be doing that, but I don't see how that is respecting my time. They should know who they are calling.
