    Locksmith worker installed wrong item; dug 3 gauges in wooden doorframe to make it fit & won’t fix problems. I searched BBB for a locksmith. When the choice for “Farnan” showed, I chose them. I knew there had been a Farnan’s on Market St. Wilm., for decades. I called Farnan on 6-7-2023 & got "Delaware Lock." They said they changed their name from Farnan. I asked them to replace a handle & lock on the storm door at our rental property. Delaware Lock told me a worker would go out the next day, see what type was needed to buy, go to Home Depot, purchase & replace door handle & lock. Later that same day I left a message on Delaware Lock’s’ voicemail: saying it was a Larson Brass Lock. I gave the model # & said Larson’s website says they will send the part with NO shipping cost. On 6-8-2023 Delaware Lock called me and said they don’t check their voicemail until 9 a.m. and the worker had already left to inspect the lock & get the information he needed. On 6-21 I was emailed an invoice for $236.42. By that time, I had seen the job that was done. A brass assembly was not installed; a brushed nickel one was. The worker also dug 3 gauges into the wooden doorframe to make the incorrect assembly fit and operate. I ordered & have the correct assembly from Larson's. I was told under no circumstances would Delaware Lock repair the gauges or have them repaired. Nor will they replace the door handle & lock assembly I bought, until I pay the invoice for the unsatisfactory work done by Delaware Lock.
