Submithub.com advertises itself as a place for musicians to pay to have their content sent to "curators" who will then add your music to their playlists. Regrettably, this is dishonest and a scam. I myself am a career musician with hundreds of gigs experience and thousands of followers on social media. My submitted music has high production quality and I paid this Submithub $156.72 for this placement service. My music was rejected from all playlists that responded. The curators' playlists they work with are not even relevant to the genre of music I produce (traditional country) and are all being somehow compensated by the Submithub company, so it seems to be an inside job scam that will make desperate musicians/artists continue to pay more and more money in the hopes that their music will be played, with no promise that it will ever happen. Bait and switch. When I contacted support to request a refund, they then replied with the following:

"Hey, Jason here. Sorry to hear that. We show you exactly where they share, how often they share, and which songs they're sharing. The down side is that simply being aligned on genre doesn't mean they'll like your song enough to share it :(

I know SubmitHub can be real tough, but unfortunately we can't refund credits that have already been used. I'm sure it's not the answer you were hoping for, but the credits go toward their time spent listening to and considering your song, and can't come with any guarantee of a share otherwise we'd be violating Spotify's terms.

I totally respect if you find that SubmitHub isn't right for you -- there are a lot of different ways to market your music, and hopefully you find the one that works well for you!"

Therefore they refuse to refund me for this scam of a "service" and I have to escalate to BBB for help. This type of thing must be affecting thousands of other people. Please help!

    Business Response

    Date: 11/20/2023

We're up front and transparent about how SubmitHub works. It's based on subjective opinion, and unfortunately not everyone gets the results they're hoping for. If people don't like your song, we can't force them to share it -- and that's not the service we're offering. What we do is connect you with curators in a transparent manner. Whether they like and share your song or not is out of our control.
