I spend the past three months wondering why I was unfairly treated at Audi Wilmington by ***** *****, Parts Manager because of the color of my skin. On 03/30/2023 I visited the Wilmington dealership to purchase a front windshield for my Audi Etron Edition One. I presented a check written out for the amount of $1591.67. On the desk of the parts department counter is a sign clearly stating checks accepted with ID but apparently my check was no good there. ***** said he was not taking that check with out any explanation why. He acted like he was suspicious of me.He said you can either pay with cash or credit card. I walked out of the dealership to retrieve my credit card to pay for the windshield which I later regretted. Frank said his window guy works Wednesday and I will receive a call when the windshield arrives. After three weeks without a call I decided to call inquiring about the glass. I talked to a receptionist who couldn’t find any information and transferred me to the parts department where my call went unanswered. I left a voicemail with no returned call. I called my credit card company to reverse to charge. My wife called the dealership to complain about ****** racist behavior. They tried to smooth things over but couldn’t tell me if the windshield was ever ordered. I now travel out of my way to get my Audi serviced which I’m happy to do because I feel accepted and apart of the Audi Family.. Acceptance, fully acknowledging the facts of a situation and not fixating on how it shouldn’t be that way. My mindset today moves me from ***** *****’s harsh judgment and allows me not see all white people as racist. I hope moving forward people of color never experience this form of discrimination by the hands of ***** ******
