I went to the business in order to get a tune up done for my car, as I was planning on driving from ******* to ************* within the next week. I went to go drop off my car, mistakenly expecting for the tune up to be done in a couple hours, as I had experienced many times in the 40 years I have been driving. Well, I ended up receiving the message that the work on my car was finished after two days of waiting. Upon showing up they gave me a receipt charging me $330 for an inspection which listed about 20 urgent fixes so they could charge me over $10,000 for, having not done any work on my car. I went in asking for a simple tune up and instead they performed an inspection for $330.

This customer has never been at ******************************************************************** in ****************  He was however, at the Christian Brothers Automotive in Apollo Beach FL on 12/12/24. Their repair order number for this customer is RO # *****.

We are individually owned franchises. BBB needs to get their facts straight when falsely accusing a business of bad practices. This could result in a defamation law suit against the Better Business Bureau.

I expect a retraction from BBB on my shop in ************ FL.

I am the owner of Christian Brothers Automotive in ***************.

If you have any questions please feel free to call me. ************

I have attached the work order for the guest's vehicle.  We performed a courtesy inspection on the vehicle free of charge - not for $330 as the guest imp[lies.  We did perfom an AC performance test which includes evacuating and recharging the vehicle's ac system (removing the freon and refilling it).  ************ is clearly spelled out on the repair order.

I took my vehicle in for an issue of it shaking when in idle. My vehicle sat not even being looked at till the end of the next day even though I was given an appointment to bring it in. The mechanic gave a laundry list of items that were suggested to be completed, around $5000. I opted not to do all the items as some were suggestions and had nothing to do with the issue. Once I finally got my vehicle back about a week later it had a new issue. I was given an appointment and was then told it could have to do with a fuel pump relay which was a recall with the dealership. The part was finally in at the dealership after waiting 2 years, they changed the part and the issue was still there. Christian Brothers Automotive scheduled me another appointment causing me to have to pay for a rental while not having transportation. I was charged another diagnostic fee even though I did not have this issue of the car not starting right away until I got it back from them the first time. I dont feel like I should have to pay a second diagnostic fee when the issue started while they had my vehicle. They still cant tell me if the issue was caused with the work they did the first time. I feel like I was take. Advantage of and because I dont know much about car repairs they gave me a long list of things saying they had to be done rather than just fixing the issue that my car went in for. It was as if they were not sure what was causing the issue of the vehicle shaking so they advised a bunch of things to be done hoping one of the items would correct the issue.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I appreciate this being refunded especially seeing they advised I needed to have spark plugs changed, radiator flush and a few other items that Ive since found out that the dealership had done just a year and a half ago and clearly they did not need to be done again. I was definitely taken advantage of being female and not knowing much about the repairs.

    Sincerely,
