On June 3rd,2021, I purchased from Nick's Air Conditioning and Heating a Trane 4 Ton HP heat pump, 16 seers Air-conditioning Unit and installation service. Also, the contractor indicated that I needed to replace the ducts in the attic. I signed the contact that included the purchase of products and installation. The products and services were paid in two check payments one for $5,000 and another one for $5,500 (copies are attached). They promised they completed the job and they promised maintance for 2 years which they only came once in a year so far.
Issues with the AC are as follow: I do no feel enough cool in the master and the third room in the house. I called and stated this to the company. They came a couple of times stating that everything was alright, however, I still have issues not feeling cooling well in those areas. I called again various times, and they didn't reply to my call nor stopped by to check the issue. I spoke to their Damaris, the secretary of the company, and explained to her if they didn't take care of the problem, I was contacting BBB. It has been a week and no response.
I noticed I never had the formal permit for the work. I confirmed this with the City of Deltona which informed they have no registration of such permit. The permit is a must.
Since I needed to find out if the AC unit was defected, I called the manufactory, and they gave me a dealer's phone number. I called Pro-Tech Air Conditioning & Plumbing Service. They sent a technician that indicated the product was fine, and the installation however the ducts & the in/outside platform for the AC were not. This technician indicated the ducts replacement were too small and improperly installed for the unit and house. Moreover, there are leaks and they used a type of tape that detaches from the duct which blocks the system which already happened ones and they charged me $89.00 to repair not knowing that this was their negligence).

      Mrs *******,
When this job took place I was out with covid, I later learned that Eric was the one out to your home and the one who wrote the quote. From what I have heard is that your job was originally was suppose to be a system change out with adding a return vent to the master bedroom and then to seal the existing duct work. Unfortunaly the quote was not written correctly and stated a complete duct change out. In addition the work that was done was done to the duct work was not done properly, Or should I say poorly.. When I came to check on your original complaint after the initial work was done is when I found the quote was written improperly.. So that is when I had some people come back and replace all the duct work because the quote was written improperly at my cost. after the duct work was installed I tried to come back and check the work performed, Unfortunately you were in the hospital and were not able to be reached.

Now all the people involved with your job and their poor or lack of detail with your job have had their employment terminated. We have been there numerous times this year for one a Pm and another call for a clogged drain line.

I have instructed the office to pull the required permits and to schedule a visit.

Unfortunately, Those responsible put a lot of effort into hiding all the details of your continued issues from me. As I have already shown we stand behind our work.

I stated that the quote was Written improperly.. Here is how that was done. We installed a 4 ton 16 seer Trane system. When the quote was written the person writing it used generic wordage for each line item when it came to the description of work and duct work. I know this because of the price. You were only charged was 281.00 per drop. our normal price per drop to replace duct work is 600.00 per drop. This is how I know that the duct work was originally suppose to only be sealed and not replaced. At 16 drops the duct work alone would have cost 9600.00 in addition your were also given a 1650.00 discount on the job. Bring the job to 10500.00 for a 4 ton 16 seer Trane heat pump matching system and duct work. As a result of the poorly written quote we have went back and replaced all the duct work. at no charge to you. WE will continue to stand behind our quotes I completely understand that it is not your fault the quote was written improperly. This is why we have done all the addl work at not cost to you.
I haven't heard about any issues with it until now. I understand the customer has medical issues, and scheduling is a issue. so please at your earliest convivence please contact the office to schedule a visit so we can speak about the issues

I would like to speak to you in person, I need to see the duct work to know what was done improperly. I cannot take another companies word about it. If you will contact my office and schedule a time for me to see the job we can move forward with the repairs.

The customer claims that she doesn't remember the conversation she had with the sales person there at the initial visit when I spoke to her last. The sales man clamed it was suppose to be a duct seal. By the price the work sold and the memory if the conversation with the original sales person I know that this is true. Unfortunaly the written quote doesn't state that so this is why we went back and replaced the duct work. we have been trying to get in touch with the customer to resolve this issue with no response...

      Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/09/09) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
      Mr. O********:

I made an appointment for this Monday September 12, 2022 at 10:00am to loo at the AC/Duct issue. I am grateful for the response to my complaint. To clarify, I had left 2 messages when I spoke to Denise explaining what is happening. On the last call I explained to her the steps I was planning on taking if this was not resolved. She said she was going to speak to you about this issue. I waited a week and no response from anyone therefore I took the next step with BBB. Obviously, you were not getting messages since you are stating that you did not hear from me. Yes, I have some medical issues however, I always take care my messages and return phone calls especially when I need the AC issue to be resolved. It is not correct that we spoke to repair the ducts. I want to emphasize that. I was told to replace and installed the duct system as it is written on the contract. Remember, we need to make sure the AC platform outside needs to be leveled and that is also in the contract. This is the reason the AC unit plugged so quickly. Hope this clarifies my stand and we can solve this issue promptly Thank you

We scheduled for Dan to go out 09/12/22 to inspect the issues claimed by Mrs. *******. Dan and Mrs. ******* discussed the issues and agreed on what needed to be done to resolve the matter. We have pulled the required residential mechanical permits for this job. She has been scheduled for 09/20/22 to rectify the issues discussed. Dan will perform a final inspection once work has been completed following the inspection by the city of Deltona.
