On February 1st 2024, we (Bowls Superfoods) paid Nutra $3,500 for R&D work on our coconut peanut butter; we were promised a commercialized formula, a nutritional facts panel, and sampling. We were given a market-ready timeline of 3-4 months. Now, nearly a year later, were nowhere near market ready due to significant issues with Nutra, including: 1) Despite receiving and agreeing to follow a detailed recipe, Nutra consistently delivered samples that failed to meet the specifications. 2) We communicated our concerns about the samples, but Nutra misrepresented their ability to produce our product with the correct ingredientsnamely coconut ************* flakesand continued to send incorrect samples. 3) Nutra repackaged and resent our own samples, claiming they were Nutra's new samples. 4) There were multiple occurrences when Nutra neglected to respond to us for extended periods of time (thus delaying progress) or misled us about timelines. For example, Nutra told us on Feb. 14th that the first sample would be ready to ship the following week. We followed up on March 11th and 21st after not receiving samples only to learn that Nutra had not even shipped them out yet! We didnt end up receiving these samples until 2 months later on April 12th. In another instance, we had a call with Nutra on April 5th where they promised to research something for our product & get back to us. After not hearing back, we contacted them on April 11th, 22nd & 24th, desperate to continue the R&D process that we paid for as we were already behind on our timeline, but we failed to receive a response back from Nutra. We tried calling and emailing. It wasnt until May 9th that we finally heard back; we had been ignored for over a month. On Jan. 9th 2025, we sent Nutra a demand letter, requesting a refund of the $3500 we had given them due to breach of agreement. This amount reflects the payment made for a product that they failed to produce to the agreed standards. We havent heard back still.
