    I am filing a formal complaint against J&R Restoration due to their deceptive business practices and unreasonable charges for minimal services rendered at my home in late January.We contacted J&R Restoration after discovering mold in our bathroom, expecting professional guidance and remediation. However, we were misled and ill-advised, resulting in financial loss and stress. The only service J&R Restoration provided was placing dehumidifiers in the bathroom for four days. Renting similar equipment from ********** costs about $372 per week (assuming a 29Gl/per day dehumidifier, I am sure they used smaller ones), yet they are charging us around $2,500. It is likely they own this equipment or get better pricing, making their charge excessive and unjustified.Beyond placing the dehumidifiers, J&R Restoration did not perform any repairs or cover any related costs. We paid for the plumber, mold inspector, and even hired a contractor to patch the wall. Despite this, they still demand full payment, even though they did not complete any substantial work beyond basic dehumidification.Additionally, the company failed to disclose key financial implications. We were never informed that their involvement would increase our home insurance premium or that we would owe a $2,500 deductible. Had we known, we would have reconsidered. Instead, we are left paying an inflated fee while facing long-term financial consequences.J&R Restorations actions feel predatory, exploiting homeowners unfamiliar with mold remediation. Their lack of transparency, excessive pricing, and failure to perform meaningful work demonstrate unethical business practices. I feel deceived and financially exploited.I request that the BBB investigate this matter and hold J&R Restoration accountable. I also seek a fair adjustment to their charges, as paying $2,500 for a dehumidifier with no real repairs is unreasonable and unethical.
