I hired this firm April 6, to flag out my property lines so I could get a new fence. I was told the price was $750. They said they would have to re-survey the property first, I agreed, and we went to contract. A couple weeks went by and I didnt hear anything so I called to follow up and they said I was on the list. Several days later, on April 18, a crew showed up unannounced. Needing this work done I allowed them to work, but I soon realized they were not here to stake the property, rather, to gather data points to complete the linework. On April 20, they sent me an email that I could come in to pay as the survey was ready for pick up. I obliged and drove 30 minutes to their office and paid them in full, even though what I hired them for was a property stakeout, not a paper survey so I wasnt very thrilled that I was paying in full. I then realized I picked up a survey that I could not use, as it was on a haphazard size of paper that the building department wouldnt accept. We bantered over the concept of scaling but since they sent me a digital copy, I got what I needed which was my building permit, I moved on. Finally we have a permit issued the beginning of June. I call again to see how were doing with the stakeout? I was told they are 2 weeks out. This was fine as we were waiting on materials. Fast forward to end of June and fence is scheduled to start right after the July 4th holiday. I call yet again & mention that if they cannot stake the property prior to fence installation, then I dont need the services & to just give me some money back? Theyve had 2 1/2 months (since April 20) to return. They called & said theyd be there that week. Crew came for 2 hours & said they got rained out & would be back Saturday. They never came back & said they got sent to another job. Today is July 10, and I have not heard from them. I would like a credit of half of my $750 back to my credit card for not fulfilling the terms of the contract we entered..

    Business Response

    Date: 07/20/2023

I would like to take this opportunity to say I am sorry we let you down regarding your survey.  Over the past several months we have had severe staffing issues, as evidenced by ****'s absence the Saturday and subsequent days since.  This has caused us many delays recently.  Unfortunately, this caused you much difficulty with your project. That said, I am happy to refund half of the $750 for falling short of our contracted responsibility.  I would like to say we take these delays very seriously and do not ever want to hold up our clients.  Moving forward, we are actively working on our staffing issues to ensure something like doesn't happen in the future.
