I contracted with MI Box and was anticipating 2 months of rental for the storage container. Unfortunately, Palmetto Code enforcement Red Tagged the box stating that a container can only be stored on a property for *********************** Box and they stated they had never "had a problem" like that before. I cannot believe that a territory that is part of their business map is not known to them to have a 60 day legal limit. They should have known that and told me. I do not believe that was my responsibility. My Box was aware of the law but knew that when I got red tagged, they would have to pull the box even though I needed it for more time. Bottom line, they charged me for an extra 3 weeks that I did not use the box because I had to get it off my property due to code. So they get the box back and can then rent it to someone else for 3 weeks on MY DIME. They would not prorate the fee for me. Knowing they should know the code laws. That should have been done. Shame on them. Just another example of the Good Ole USA going down hill.

    To whom it may concern,

The customer was told and as per our agreement which he signed, we are not responsible for the county restrictions on his property.  There are a multitude of counties, cities, localities, HOS's, associations, ect in our delivery territory.  It is impossible for us to track all of the ordinances.  We only rent the container and place it where the customer requests on their property.  Our agreement specifically states:

LOCAL ORDINANCES, REGULATIONS, OR LANDLORD REQUESTS: You acknowledge that your use of the container(s) may be subject to county, city and local ordinances, rules and/or regulations including traffic, deed and homeowner restrictions. You assume full responsibility for any tickets, fines and/or penalties, monetary or otherwise, resulting from your use of or placement of the container(s). If a governmental unit or Landlord requires MI-BOX to move the container(s) from your property, MI-BOX will attempt to notify you of such requirement, if time permits. However, you give MI-BOX full authority to comply with such governmental requests, and absolve MI-BOX of any liability or damages you may incur as a result thereof. You assume all costs including but not limited to legal fees, towing and storage, incurred with the retrieval of the container(s) and any damages incurred to the container(s) during their removal and storage.

Also, our rental agreements which the customer signed it specifically states rentals are month to month and not prorated.  However, we waive the final pickup fee for the customer.

Please see attached signed rental agreement.

    Regards
