As of January 2, 2024, more than 3 months after the outages caused by Hurricane Helene, Go Store It reports they are 8 weeks away from having a working elevator despite claiming on their website they provide "elevator access" (see attached screen shots). They refunded one month of rent but so far have not provided any other discount or reduction for the outages. They are attempting to charge the full rent for January 2025. We rented a unit with an elevator because we cannot navigate stairs with our items. Charging full price while not fulfilling obligations as stated on your website is wrong. I have spoken with staff twice and requested additional refunds twice. I was told my request would be referred to the "big bosses" but so far have not heard back. Hoping for the best.

We will need some clarification. This complaint mentions Bradenton. We have never had a tenant with this name, nor does Bradenton's location have an elevator. The attachments show Ashville NC. facility, but I searched Ashville's locations and they do not have a tenant with this name either.

Please send clarified information for us to investigate.

I have been dealing with the storage unit since February 22nd, regarding my unit being infested with rats. I was informed by their staff that they were aware they had rats. They requested I go through the unit to look over damages in move me to a different unit in a different area. They also requested that I submitted an insurance claim to a insurance company that was no longer representing them. The agent informed me to contact the *** and Compliance Officer for Go Store It. Evidently, they were taking our insurance premium but did not have active coverage when I submitted the claim. Finally, they sent me another insurance form to complete for a different insurance company. I finally received a letter after I threaten to go to the news that one of the share holders wrote up denying my claim for damages stating that the damages did happen. However, the insurance policy does not cover damages from rats. How its this possible? I have been paying to store our property in a clean, dry, secure space. By their negligence, that was not provided. They were aware of the infestation and they were required to maintain the space. By allowing rats to incumber the space they are in breach of contract. They should have notified all tenants. Does this not justify their negligence on their behalf & are liable for damages? They are claiming they are controlled by the language of the agreement. In this instance, the Amendment to Rental Agreement states Loss does not include damage caused directly or indirectly by wear and tear, gradual deterioration, decay, inherent vice, latent defect, or vermin. As such, it is a cause of loss directly considered and excluded by the rental agreement entered into. However, they were aware prior to my property being destroyed that they had a infestation problem but never notified tenants to come check on their property or to move their property to another storage unit. They acknowledge our property were destroyed by rats.

I am rejecting this response because:
Its been since February 23, I have been trying to get this situation resolved. The company took it upon themselves to admit liability but refuse to reimburse me for damages. The company was very aware they had an infestation of rats.

    Sincerely,
