My first time going there was on October from last year. My car had the check engine on so when I went to check it (at a tire shop) they run a diagnostic and told me that the transmission solenoid needed repair. They recommended going to Cottman Transmission by ******* Boulevard which I did. After the told me that they were going to fix the solenoid, they called me and said I needed a new transmission (that up to this day, I'm almost sure they didn't do change the whole thing.2 months after the "fix", my transmission failed again and started to leak transmission fluid. I took the car back since the receipt indicated that I had 12 month warranty. They "fixed" the issues at no cost or as "courtesy" as they put it on the receipt, but then mentioned that they found coolant fluid all over my engine and that they need it to investigate.A day passed and the next day they called and told me they needed to change a Thermostat/Gasket W/Housing and flush the fluid. That with the labor had a total of $957.07!!!Since I literally don't know next to nothing about cars, and since that is my only car, actually, that's the family car, because that's the one we use for commute and basicslly everything, and I needed the car to be running, I agreed to the repair. After I hung up, ai couldn't shake the feeling of being robbed so I contact my stepfather who is a mechanic and sent me a picture of a Thermostat/Gasket W/Housing for my car on Amazon for $36.99!! They charged me $387.85 for the same part! And I don't even know if they actually changed it. The charged me $472.50 for 4 hours of labor and $129.95 for a coolant flush! This whole time I've been talking to a guy name '***' but on the receipt it says that ************ is the service advisor which is not true.I told *** how much I needed the car to be running and still robbed me greatly, and to be honest, I don't even know if I got my transmission fixed on the first place. They are doing malpractices and robbing customers.
