    I made a reservation with this campground in February for an event scheduled at the campground for Sept 26th to October 2nd. The campground does not offer a credit or a refund if a cancelation is requested for the event. My party made the difficult decision to not attend the event given the track of Hurricane Ian. We did not want to put ourselves in a dangerous situation. Even with a declared state of emergency, the campground would not offer a refund or even a credit. In doing so, their policy forces out of state residents to enter the state of Florida while it is preparing for a hurricane. If you do not make an appearance, the individual has to forfeit their investment. This policy needs to be changed, and customer protections should be afforded during times of declared emergencies and expected national disasters. A customer should not be penalized financially for choosing safety over a vacation.

    This was a park event and we do not give credit on park events and they knew this as it was stated on our park rules and on the conformation . We were not in a state of emergency here in ********* county, and the event went on as planned we didn't even get rain!

    My family and I were planning on attending a group kayaking event at Ellie Rays but Hurricane Ian showed up. We called the RV park to either request a refund or a credit to be used at a later time. Later for us literally meant 2-3 days difference in our reservations. Not only was the person we talked to on the phone rude and unprofessional, but no refund and no credit could be offered in the face of an impending hurricane and the whole state of Florida in a state of emergency. Safety prevented us from going during the hurricane but I appalled that we could not get a least a credit for moving our reservation back a few days to avoid a hurricane!!
