To Whom It May Concern,I am filing a complaint against Crystal Ballroom on the Lake for breach of contract, poor business practices, and failure to promptly refund my deposit after canceling my booked wedding venue.Breach of ******************** Harm I signed a written contract with Crystal Ballroom early Nov 2024 and paid a $2,000 deposit via Zelle to secure my wedding date. On January 27, 2024three months laterthey informed me there was a glitch in their system, and the venue had been double-booked. They admitted they should not have sold me that date but only offered two unacceptable options: reschedule (which is impossible since my 200 guests have already booked travel) or a refund (which does not cover the damages caused).Per the attached contract, if I had canceled, they would have kept my deposit. Since they are the ones canceling, they should be held to the same standard. Their mistake has caused significant financial harm, as I am now struggling to secure a comparable venue within budget.Failure to ****************************** Service The district manager ignored my texts and only responded after repeated follow-ups.I was told my refund was initiated, yet when I followed up, they requested my address again proving it had not been processed.I requested a Zelle refund (which is instant, the same way I paid), yet after four days, I still have not received my money.Requested Resolution I am requesting:A full refund of my $2,000 deposit (which should have already been issued). An additional $1,000 compensation for the financial burden and emotional distress caused by their contract breach. If Crystal Ballroom fails to comply, I will escalate this matter by filing a small claims lawsuit and a complaint with the state Attorney Generals office.I'm attaching a copy of my contract as evidence as well as a more elaborate document on the detailed communication between me and the business (not enough room to talk about the back and forth).
