We received a letter on Jan 16 stating we had a $40.60 balance on our account. It doesn't state what it is for or for what account. On Jan. 23 I called the office number on the letterhead regarding this amount and was told it was a late fee for our social membership. I was told by this staff member that my request would be looked into and I would be called back. As of Jan. 27 I had not received a response from Citrus Hills so I sent an email to the Club Financial Controller and the General Manager trying to resolve the issue. I also drove to the membership office on Jan. 27 and there was no one in the office. I spoke with a staff member out in the lobby and she said this happens a lot and our check was most likely not deposited until Jan. 11. Not sure how that could be or how she came to that conclusion but I decided to go ahead and pay the amount due so that I would not be charged any more fees. I told her I would give her my credit card and she said it had to be by check. So, I had to go home and get my checkbook and return back to the office. I left a letter for the social membership office with the activities center office,  along with proof that showed Citrus Hills had deposited our check on Jan. 3. I also asked for the $40.60 fee to be waived as the bill states "the club offers a grace period of five days for special issues that arise." This was our first quarterly payment. Jan. 1 was a Sunday and Monday was a holiday so I would assume Citrus Hills already had the check since it was deposited on Jan. 3. I also asked for proof of the date our check was deposited by Citrus Hills bank. I received a voicemail from Anthony on Jan. 27  and he said he would call me back the following day or Monday to discuss. I have yet to hear from anyone and our $40.60 was deposited but yet no communication from membership about this whole issue. The lack of communication in almost every aspect of this community is seriously lacking and disappointing.

      Mrs. ********

Citrus Hills Golf and Country Club received your payment on January 12th, 11 days after it was due. Your picture indicates that you paid (through bill pay) on January 3. Once you made the payment, it still apparently processed and went through the mail. The late fee is assessed if your payment is not received before the 5th of each month. You spoke with Anthony L****** on the telephone and he agreed to remove the late fee since this was your first quarterly payment since you moved in. The late fee was removed on January 26th. You came into the membership billing office and paid the late fee anyway on January 31st. Since the late fee was removed before you made the payment on January 31st, your payment counted as a prepayment toward your next quarterly assessment. The $40 that you paid will be credited to your next quarterly payment.

The relief you requested was provided nearly two weeks before you submitted this complaint. I am sorry that there was confusion/miscommunications. I hope that this timeline explanation is helpful. As always, if you have any further questions, please call our membership billing department.

Citrus Hills Golf and Country club is delaying processing quarterly social membership fees so that they can collect late fees and 18% interest on aledge late payment. They do not have a web sight for direct payment and require all payment by mail unless you give them your credit card information. I received my 3 quarter bill and had a late fee and interest charge. When I called Citrus Hills Golf and Country club to ask about the charge they told me my payment was late and they did not receive it until 7/11/2022. I mailed it in late June, well before the 7/1/2022 due date. My cancelled check shows the check was processed on 7/9/2022 two days before Citrus Hills Golf and Country club said they received my payment. When I asked if they would wave the late fee and interest charge I was told they would not reduce the charge. I mailed my 3rd quarter payment on 9/28/2022 so my guess is they will hose me again.
