Went under contract to do a full house remodel in 2021. Not only was the work that has been finished not up to industry standard but 20% of the work promised has yet to be delivered even though I paid up front for it. Everything that has been done has already started to fall apart

Urban Project Management (UPN) has violated and failed to honor our remodeling agreement to complete work in a timely fashion after payment. The project started 9.8.22. We were quoted 3-4 months for completion. Its been 9 months and we are barely 50% done! There have been several delays and work stoppages because of the owners inability to finance & secure contractors to do the work. Even though they have received payment. The first major extended delay we experienced was 8 weeks, no fault of our own from ****************. During this time no work was completed on our property even though we made all due payments. We were only told thank you for your patience! The second and current occurrence is from 4.13.23 until now. We made all current payments totaling $55,000 and no work has been done on our home in three weeks! We were told by the owner *********************** that work would start the week after payment and nothing has been done. I emailed the owner after his failed on his initial word o start work and i have received no response after two weeks. No call text email nothing! No schedule, estimated start date nothing! After a 55k payment!UPN is poorly managed & insufficiently funded which lead to our projects delays. The owner has to '*** ***** to pay ****.' They use the funds they receive from us on other client projects and then we have to wait until they get new clients or payments to complete our project. This is unethical and fraudulent. Our contract states our payments should be used to fund our project only! No to pay for work on other projects or fund the daily opperations of UPN! This company is on life support week to week by bouncing money around from one client to the next. UPN does not employ its own contractors. So if the contractors they hirer get other jobs and delays we as a customer have delays. If the current contractors are busy the ** should have additional contractors to complete the work. We were told before signing our contract, they have several contractors if some of them got busy. No we see thats not the case. We are not doing a rebuild. Its a remodeling project. It should not take 9 months to get 50% through the project! We are also filing a complaint with the ******* ********** of ******** and Professional Regulation (DBPR).We do not want other residents suffering the lies misrepresentation and delays to their project we have suffered,These delays have also created a financial impact on us because now we have to pay more interest on our construction loan until the work is completed. I will be seeking financial damages for the construction delays as well. We have paid a total of $117,000 90% of the contract payment and we only have 50% of the work completed! Completely unethical irresponsible and unprofessional management.Other customers need to know what they are getting into!***********************

    Complaint: 20014346

I am rejecting this response because: I have issued a formal complaint with the **************** DBPR, which has been accepted and forwarded to ********** legal department Case# ********** I also have a lawyer preparing a lawsuit case against this company. We went under contract in Sept of 2022 with a 12 week estimate to complete. As of July 2023 we had only completed 50% of the work. I terminated the contract hired another contractor and he completed the remaining work in 6 weeks. I made a $56,000 payment toward finishing and none of the work was completed and Urban project Management refused to return my payment. This company lied, misrepresented their capabilities, resources and mis managed the funds that i entrusted them with. They are poorly managed and do not have the financial resources to operate effectively. Because of this they consistently delayed my project and used my payments to fund starting other new project and for personal use. Complete frauds and i hope the State puts them out of business. They do not even have a real office. They operate out of a co-sharing office thats is less than 200sq ft. if they cannot manage and afford a legitimate office space for their own company, why intrust them with your hard earned money. Go visit their office to see for yourself before signing a contract. UPM is run by one ***************************. with a constantly turnover of people with fake titles who do not know what they are doing. There is no 'Project Management' just *********************** sending contractors to your project with no management or oversight. The work that was completed had so many errors and things we had to redo its pathetic. Stay away and do not trust them with your hard earned money. They will start out friendly, then lie, delay and mis-use your funds with all kinds of excuses. Many people do not speak up and will not fight back. ******* is cracking down on these companies and UPM will be next. I will be updating this review as the states legal process and my lawsuit progresses.   Desired resolution: Refund

    Sincerely,

    ***********************
