On Feb 14, Allen's tree works came to my house to cut down one tree, and branches from another. His crew smelled of alcohol, and then they proceeded to drop trunks into my yard making large holes. Then they dragged outlarge branches without cutting them smaller and proceeded to scratch everything on the way out, including my brand, new air conditioning condenser, my brand new poolheater, my fence, which is newer, and my car. They also did not tie up the tree when cutting it down, so then proceeded todrop a large trunk onto my fence, leaving a dent which I have pictures and video proof of all of this. Lastly, they left a pile of tree debris at the end of my yard/street and two big branches on the other side of the fence in my neighbor's property. The neighbor called another tree service to haul it away and had to pay for that. Now I am stuck with this pile of blocking my driveway. I can't get in and out. My neighbor has to do a four-point turn to get out of her driveway. They told me they wouldbe back the next day Saturday to get it. They never showed up. They then told me that they would be here Sunday and never showedup. They said that they would be here first thing in the morning Monday and never showed up. They said that they would be here first in the morning Tuesday and never showed up. Now it is Wednesday going on five days and it's still in my driveway.

We signed an agreement with Allen's Tree Works to remove 30 hibiscus and 4 sweet viburnum bushes from our property. The contractor removed 29 hibiscus and 3 sweet viburnum on 1/31/25. The one hibiscus was omitted by mistake, while the one sweet viburnum was not removed due to proximity to a gas line. We paid the contractor $600 for the work done. The contractor called 811 to have the premises marked, which happened 4-5 days later. The 811 work ticket was closed, but almost two weeks later, the root ball of the **** is still on the property, waiting to be ground. After multiple inquiries and multiple excuses, my wife called the contractor on 2/12 to ask when they plan to come out and grind the root ball, and the company owner became defensive and abusive, indicating he is now not comfortable complete the work. The proximity of the **** to the gas line was noted by the contractor at the time of estimate. We simply want Allen's Tree Works to complete the work stated on our work order, so our project can continue to the next step.

This response was taken verbally by BBB:

We completed all of the work that was contracted for, with the exception of grinding the *****. We were unable to get to the ***** to grind it because it was on an incline. We deducted $200 from the job for that and the customer paid. We have not heard from the customer since.

I am rejecting this response because:  ***** Tree Work's response is inaccurate. Initially, they accept a contract for $800 to complete all of the work stated. While the business requested payment of $600 for the partial work completed, it was with the promise that they would return and finish the job when their "***** grinder was available". Nothing was mentioned about an incline. Maybe they are thinking of another job they failed to complete. Our property is almost perfectly flat. We contacted the business multiple times, and their story was that they were in contact with "811" to make sure their work would be clear of the adjacent gas line. As of our last call to the business, they had received all necessary information from the gas company and were ready to proceed when their ***** grinder could be scheduled. They never contacted us again, which was when we entered this complaint with the BBB.

    Sincerely,

    **** ******

I hired this company to remove a very large pine tree from my backyard. They left my property in shambles, with large craters and drag marks, debris and after multiple attempts to get them to restore my property to its original state the owner stated that I was being too difficult asking them to do so in a timely manner so he would not be coming back to restore my property and was going to delete my number. The company also busted my concrete that resulted in busting my gas and water lines that he was made aware of prior to beginning the project. Im having to hire multiple contractors to fix the aforementioned destruction at my expense, lost wages and having to go without the use of my gas appliances, ie stove, dryer etc. The owner was/is full aware of the damages he did to my property as he came back to my home, assessed the damages and then sent an employee to my home with a garden rake and he haphazardly filled one crater but nothing else and when I asked him why he stated his boss didnt say anything about the other craters/ holes and giant oil leaks so he called ***** who told him to leave as they would have to return with a better rake anyway so he left. ***** or someone else came back to my property and poured bleach on the oil leaks while I was gone leaving even more of a mess. I once again asked him to just come out and finish up. Thats when he said that I was being too difficult and he was not going to come back to my house and fix anything. I paid $4300.00 to remove the tree and its going to cost me plenty more to repair the damages incurred by him. His license number is BTR *******.

After removing the Pine tree, I walked up to the lady and asked for my check. She gladly paid me. She offered me & my crew beers and sat around and talked a bit . when we were leaving again, she asked if I would blow off her roof even though the tree was far away from the home so I did it anyway . There were a couple of wholes in the ground and some oil stains on driveway and she said not a big deal because the driveway was a shamble. The ***** grinding guy came 2 or 3 days latter and grinded the ***** After he left. I started receiving calls from her to level out the yard . I told her that after we grind we do not move chips around or remove them, its on my contract. I came back anyway to move the chips around to make the yard more level for her any way. she was not happy because now she wanted me clean up the oil stain so I came back to see what I could do and the she wanted me to come back there only when she was there which made it more difficult . So I asked her when the Lawn guys come to your home are you always there. she said no but I don't know you that well. She had been drinking and I could not please her so I left.

I am rejecting this response because: None of what ***** says is accurate. The tree was directly over my garage and they blew the roof off the garage and there chips and debris on the roof of the house as well and I did ask them to remove it. I never once stated that the driveway was no big deal. I asked about the ***** and holes and ****** and ***** stated that he subbed out the grinding. That was the first time hearing that, he never said anything about that to me and it would have been in a text message as thats how we communicated until the day he came to remove tree. I gave three of his workers a beer when they were done working because they put in a long day. I had been inside doing chores and had a beer as well, not beers. His men stayed to me that hes left jobs like this in the past. Myself and two of his men smelled gas at that time. They finished their beverage and left. The next morning was when I really noticed just how much damage was done especially the concrete. A few days later I come home from work and the ***** had need ground but the yard was a disaster. The oil spills were still there and thats when I reached out to him and his response was Ill get to it in stages. He sent one guy out that had a leaf rake and he partially raked dirt into one hole and was told to leave.

    Sincerely,
