    Sometime in March or April of 2021, this company installed a hurricane resistant garage door in the residence which has since been sold to our son. It was a condition to be met prior to closing. He is currently renting this property to us, and stopped working on December 16, 2022. We called the company to come and look at the opener, and an appointment was set for December 19. between the hours of 10am - 12pm. We waited, but nobody showed up. We tried to call, but there was no answer and the "mailbox was full." We called again the next day and reached somebody who told us that the technician had run out of time. We were never not advised of him not coming, resulting in wasted time. We set up another appointment for December 21, between 2 and 4pm. Again, nobody showed up and there was no call advising us of the reason, resulting in further wasted time. We tried to call, but there was no answer and the "mailbox was full." We attempted to reach the company by email. No return email. We finally reached out to another company and the door opener required replacement. The unit was under warranty, but we had to replace it, resulting in an expense that should have been covered.

    Hello BBB, 
     Responding to this complaint. We installed a hurricane rated garage door, NOT the opener. The opener they had was a 1/2 HP and was recommended that the opener should be changed due to the hurricane rated door to a 3/4 HP or better to support the weight of the hurricane rated door.
    The garage door should be serviced at least twice a year and its been longer then a year.
    Customer is stating that she contacted the company several times, but she called the technician not the company.
    About the other garage door company she called that came out, they could have said anything to make the sale.
    About warranty: The only warranty is on the garage door for the paint, NOT the opener.
    If she had a warranty on the opener, then that was with the opener company itself.
