Purchased 12V automotive battery from merchant. Battery arrived defective. Contacted merchant, they said could only give me 80% credit and could not refund the initial shipping that I paid. They told me to contact the manufacturer. I didn't buy from manufacturer, I bought from Evannex.com. I ended up returning the product but they didn't refund the initial shipping or the return shipping I paid $44 to get the item back to Evannex. See below. I drove around for one day with the same battery warning that I had with the old battery, stating that some of the car systems would not be functional. ***** came out and told me your battery is defective. Luckily, the car appears to be OK now with a new SLA Battery. Do these get tested before you ship them out? Seems like amatuer night, much like your phone systems.I'm not happy as you can tell as I'm not 100% sure if your defective battery did permanent damage to my car. I expect a FULL refund. You should also send me a prepaid label for this order. Escalate this to the *** if necessary. If this is unacceptable, I'll dispute the charge with my CC and call the Better Business Bureau.-*******************

The customer was issued a full refund except the initial shipping cost as that is a flat rate charged by the manufacturer. These batteries fall under Hazmat and require special shipping. As per the manufacturer's return policy and ours, the battery must be returned by the customer regardless if it defective or not. These batteries are to be shipped directly back to the manufacturer by the customer as we cannot accept them at our facility. Once the manufacturer receives the returned battery, they are inspected and tested to ensure if there was any defect.

************** battery was returned in perfect working condition and passed all tests which shows the battery is not defective. The manufacturer authorized us to issue a full refund (waiving the 20% restocking fee) less the $19 flat rate hazmat shipping fee.

In case of a defective item, Evannex should stand behind the products they sell and offer a FULL refund in addition to covering the return shipment as almost every other online retailer does.

This product contains a Lithium Ion battery and falls under the same regulations as millions of other products with Lithium Ion batteries.  That fact alone does not preclude Evannex from refunding the outbound shipping and form issuing a prepaid return label for ground shipping.  Instead, they quote the manufacturers return policy which has nothing to do with me.

This battery sparked and pitted the positive connector on my vehicle and also pitted the positive terminal on the battery.  There is no way a battery in perfect working condition would do that.  There was likely a problem with the *** on this battery and that is why the manufacturer approved a full refund.  I measured the DC voltage at the battery terminals at under 3V which is also not normal.  If Evannex has written test documentation from the manufacturer that proves this battery was not defective, they should attach it here.

Until I see written proof from the manufacturer that the pitting on the terminals is normal and the battery is not defective, I reject the response from Evannex.

      Sincerely,

      -*******************

      Hello,

As per the manufacturer's return policy and warranty information, which can be found here: *************************************************, this return was processed in accordance to their policy which is echoed on our website as well.

      *************************************************************************

      *********************************************************************************************

OHMMU Lithium Ion 12V Batteries. We want you confident that all uninstalled unused items can be returned for a refund within 30 days of item(s) receipt. *Exceptions apply, see below:
Products must be unused, and, in the condition, they were received within original or comparable packaging.
You agree to be responsible for return shipping and handling cost.
A restocking fee of 20% will be strictly enforced as per the manufacturer.
      ************************************************

There is nothing further that can be done regarding this claim as the customer has already been refunded in full for the battery except for the $19 flat rate shipping fee (which is non-refundable).
