This company is a SCAM. After signing with them to help us with our claim after Hurricane ***, ******************* of Horizon Public Adjusters did very minimal work for us as liaison with our insurance company. In addition to meeting with us a couple of times, he sent a few emails and made a few phone calls, that's it. When talking to our insurance company, they had only heard from him a few times. The value for their 8% "fee" was negligible. We had to constantly follow up with him only to find that he was not communicating with our insurance adjuster, or us, forcing us to do his work for him in order to keep our claim moving forward. Why should he? We signed a contract so they were to be paid no matter how much work he did. Once you sign, they get paid if you get paid PERIOD. The owner has said if we don't pay, we will be hearing from his lawyer because we signed a contract even though we agree we owe something for their time, but the work put into our claim was not worth the 8% they demand. Steer clear of this company, they are scammers and not trustworthy. Don't sign over representation and assignment of any percentage of your insurance proceeds, they let you sign believing they are on your side and they will be working for you but they get paid no matter how much work they do! And yes, I am a real client of theirs, signing their contract on 10/3/22 after the major hurricane hit **************.

This review is inaccurate on so many levels.  First of all, the adjuster has been in communication with this homeowners insurance company many times as documented by notes with the insurance company as well as correspondence uploaded to our online portal. Within a short period of signing the claim, a licenced estimator was sent to the property to evaluate the damage which was paid by Horizon and at no cost to the homeowner. The "normal" fee for a hurricane claim is 10%, as a courtesy, this claim was signed at a reduced cost of 8%.
Furthermore, the Swains have deposited insurance checks which were also payable to Horizon without our endorsement and have been refusing to pay our commission.
We have been in business since 2008 and have an excellent reputation and five star reviews
