we signed a contract for remodeling the house including the repair of an underground pipe broken. The repair consisted of opening the floor rebuilding the underground line and remodeling part of the house which included replacing the entire house floor tiles, removing all popcorn from the ceiling of the living, dinner, master bedroom, and laundry, and remodeling all the master bedroom, install some decorating tiles in the half bath and some additional such paint all the ceiling, install new baseboards, new lights everything in a written contract signed on May 11, 2023, and expected to be finished two months later. The contract was only for labor costs because all materials were paid 100% by us. We already paid a total of $44100 dollars for a total of $47000 asked in the contract. After 5 months of intermittent work and several people coming in and out, the work is not yet completed. We do not have our master bedroom available, and no half bath either, we cannot use our MB because the vanity and tub were left in the master room without installation. The tile was not finished in the master bathroom, and some of the grout is missing in the floor installed, We hired and paid for finishing the paint and the installation of the baseboard because the guys the contractor sent had no idea of doing it and left all the garage with debris and garbage for months. We contacted the contractor several times and he promised to come but nothing happened. We a family of 4 with 3 pets have been living in three bedrooms and just one bath for the last 5 months. We also spent thousands of dollars on materials some of them left as garbage in our garage, they used an extra 15% of the tiles we bought according to the contractor but his workers broke and installed unleveled some of them and for that reason, we have to buy an extra of $2500 dollars in tiles.
