I really appreciated HydroScout and I was surprised at the negative reviews. I think they explain everything up front and told me exactly what to expect. Their technician called me the day before and showed up right on time. He quickly found the leak and marked it out for the plumber the next day. My experience was nothing but positive.

I want to make a comment on the minimal, irrelevant and lame quality of Hydro Scout inspection, work and report done on 12/30/22. They sent inspector on a request for inspection by Olympus Insurance. The conclusion of the inspection and study on that day was written in a report submitted to your client, Olympus Insurance, and later on Olympus Insurance emailed me your report. In your report basically you say that some water leaked during hurricane Ian in 2022 through the insulation around two of our windows to the living room. And this is all your noticed, wrote and declared as experts. Since then, we changed those windows. However, today in Daytona Beach rain day 1.2 inches. It was enough to have again water under our wall. We found water leakage right at the inner edge between the floor and the wall, along 3 feet of inner edge.Water already accumulated again inside our house, through the wall. Namely, through the bricks at the junction between the bricked wall and the concrete slab of the floor. So, the wall was defective and allows water to penetrate from rain into the house. This spot is exactly where we noticed the water entering in the house also during the Ian hurricane last year. And you failed to detect this. This WAS the only important thing, the real damaging problem. Your result was zero, useless, non-professional. Your inspector was wasting your money, and wasted Olympus money and time and created confusions and disinformation. You should verify your Inspectors' abilities to be a professional and to understand how to use the equipment. You as a company failed to detect a severe leakage, a serious one a crack in my wall. Your work was non-professional, weak, useless and ridiculous. I had a bad experience with you and your minimal level of professionalism.

HydroScout conducted a cause of loss inspection at the **** residence on 12/30/22.  We were hired by the homeowner's insurance company.  Our loss description stated that the homeowner reported seeing water on their living room floor along the front and left side exterior walls during Hurricane Ian.  We were hired to determine where/how the water entered the home.  At the time of the inspection, the baseboards and drywall along the bottom 4 to 6 inches of the two exterior walls had already been removed and the area was dry.

Our inspection revealed deteriorated sealant around the front and left side windows.  Water testing the left side window resulted in water running down the wall behind the drywall and onto the floor.  This was conclusive cause-and-effect evidence of this leak.  Our inspection revealed no other visible defects in the area in question.  Our recommendation was to replace the deteriorated sealant.  We did not recommend replacing the windows.

Furthermore, it has been five months since our inspection, and we have had no calls or emails concerning any problems with our inspection or our report.  Daytona Beach has had rain and thunderstorms ten times during that period, according to an internet search.  This is the first time we have heard of an issue with our inspection.  If there is a crack in the exterior of the home, which is allowing water intrusion to occur in the same area that we were asked to inspect, it was not visible at the time of our inspection.

Identification of cracks in painted stucco-over-block homes is a visual inspection only, followed by water testing confirmation in most cases.  There is no method of testing which can predict if, when, or where a new crack may develop.

HydroScout stands behind our test results and is always available to discuss customer questions or complaints.  We would have been happy to talk with the homeowner and find a resolution.  A phone call would have been much more productive than a bad review on BBB.
